If Coraline did not exist, ParaNorman would be my favorite Laika film! Norman is a great lead character, with a surprising historical story that stay well rooted in character and emotion. Definitely a good Halloween watch.

A highly underrated Halloween watch. Paranorman takes familiar beats and rolls with them to create a lovable exploration of what it means to be an outcast, with a bit of an undead flare. The animation is stellar, and the twist behind the dead coming to life feels incredibly poignant, as Norman's journey shines a light on the town's shameful past, a story beat that is both dark, yet handled with care and delicacy, resulting in a pretty cathartic, feel--good ending.
