WHERE TO WATCH

Reviews(3)

  • This movie rightfully deserves all of the hype it received, and to this day I think the cast were robbed of Oscar nominations in acting categories. The first half almost plays out like a family comedy, but the moment that doorbell rings at the halfway point, you just get this sinking feeling in your stomach. From there on, the film is a full on thriller and even a horror movie at times. There is so much to analyze about Parasite, from how the ending comes full circle to the social commentary about Korea's class divide. It will never get old rewatching this movie.

  • Parasite deserved so much more it got, as stellar performances keep you hooked in through all the twists and turns of Boon Joon-ho's unflinching exploration of class divide. Entertaining, yet unafraid to cast its life on the truly ugly aspects of society

  • Believe the hype. Parasite really is that good and the way Bong Joon Ho is able to blend together so many different genre elements is nothing short of miraculous. Funny, thrilling, horrifying, and a look into Korean class politics that many people were most likely not familiar with.

Synopsis

Best Picture Oscar winner Parasite follows the impoverished Kim family, who live in a small apartment and consistently struggle to make ends meet. After they chance across the gullible and wealthy Park family, the Kims ingratiate themselves through lies and deceit, earning themselves jobs taking care of the household. However, their newfound luck is built on an ever-growing foundation of mistruths - one that threatens to fall down around them at any moment.

Parasite Review: Bong Joon-ho's Latest is Truly One of a Kind
9/10

Funny, disturbing, and heartbreaking all at once, Parasite finds Bong in top form as a storyteller, delivering a film like no other this year.
