  • On one hand, this movie is the weakest of the PotC series. It proves that Jack doesn't work as the driving force/lead character, and can become grating, all while paired with a villain who pales to the original trilogy's antagonist in of performance and memorability. Yet, it also feels like it had the makings of a good legacy sequel, bringing resolution to both Will and Elizabeth's bittersweet tale, and adding a layer of intrigue with the Barbossa family that a continuation could have built on.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is an adequate series sequel, but fails to leave any lasting impression on the audience.
