The third film in the Chronicles of Riddick franchise and a sequel to Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick, 2013's Riddick stars Vin Diesel as the eponymous fugitive. When Riddick is betrayed and left for dead on a hostile planet, fortune somewhat bends in his favor when a band of mercenaries arrives to capture him. The mercenaries soon realize their out of their depth when a greater threat arrives, forcing them to forces with Riddick to stand a chance.
