  • Shazam! is a joy. It strikes a good balance between superhero fanfare and humor, taking the dream scenario for most kids and putting it to screen with Billy and his family. I also appreciate the more complex character arc for Billy, it's remarkable how this movie stuck by such a bittersweet arc for its lead, yet handled it so respectfully and carefully. Doctor Sivana is a serviceable villain, though somewhat dull. That doesn't stop the film from feeling like an underated gem though,

  • Shazam! is a really fun movie that I enjoyed a lot more than I thought I would. It is filled with humor and interesting plot points and Zachary Levi is phenomenal in his role as Shazam.

  • Shazam! has an interesting premise with likable characters. Zachary Levi is actually really good in this before he turns into a cartoon character in the sequel. The theme of found family always resonates with me and those are the best parts of the film.

  • Shazam captures the glee of 'what if I had superpowers' while also managing to conjure up genuinely scary villains in a way that modern movies tend to avoid for younger views. Zachary Levi is perfect casting, and this is the rare superhero movie I could watch again and again.

Shazam Movie Review
Shazam! Review: A Charming, If Uninventive Superhero Origin Story
7/10

Shazam! is a wildly fun superhero adventure, with plenty of humor and heart, but struggles at times to strike a good balance between levity and drama.
