  • I absolutely love Skyfall, it is one of the best and first Bond movies to really give an solid explanation for his untrustworthy and often dark personality and origin.

We've never been taken back to his parents home or even really heard them spoken about, this movie does both.

Although the movies that followed were also great, they weren't Skyfall.

  • A remarkable middle chapter for Craig's Bond's saga, this movie sees the actor and filmmakers embrace the gadget play and charm of Bond, but with some welcome modernisations and not losing the grounded grit, as Javier Bardem's Silva is one of the franchises' compelling figures as a dark what-if for Bond, both efficiently cold and deranged, but fun to watch. The new cast picking up the roles of past characters such as Q and Moneypenny are welcome additions who make the roles their own without feeling like an overt nod to the series' past. When paired together with a personal story, Skyfall stands out as one of Bond's best.

  • Raoul Silva is a cool villain, acting as a worst-case scenario for what James Bond could have become. Fun set pieces and a weird but I guess effective emotional thread of M being Bond's spy mommy. It's all downhill from here.
