Synopsis
Slow Horses is an adaptation of CWA Gold Dagger Award-winning Mick Herron’s first novel in the "Slow Horses" series, which follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 – Slough House. Gary Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but irascible leader of the spies who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes.

I’ve listened to all the audiobooks as i couldn’t wait for the new series to come out. The books are a bit different to the tv show but I love both. It’s interesting to see how close the new characters are to how I pictured them. Throughly enjoying series 4.

Intrigued by the title & that Gary Oldman has a a part, this persuaded me to watch. From there on I was ‘hooked’. Such an engaging script with characters presenting their own eclectic mix of emotion, anger, loss & personal defects such you get embroiled into their personal lives as much as sitting on the edge of your seat in the regular shoot outs, car chases, such that a good western of the 1950’s provided , aka ‘Ok Coral’ style.
Further advice is to ensure you have used the bathroom facilities before viewing, as there could be a few accidents!
Brilliant script, entwined with stylish acting. My wife stayed awake throughout all the episodes. This is a record only shared with ‘Gardner’s World’. You don’t get a higher recommendation than that!

Love the books and the show. I am glad that Lamb isn't my boss but I have had some similar in the past. Can't wait for series 4..

Slow Horses is one of the best series I have encountered. Gary Oldman, while a crass, and purposefully disgusting character, definitely makes the show. Don't miss this brilliant work of art!

I’ve enjoyed Mick Herron’s books since the first Slow Horses. The tv series is very true to the books, but all the actors are standouts. Especially Gary Oldman, almost unrecognizable from previous roles. It’s a pawn of praise to London in all it’s gritty reality.
