Proving that lightning could be caught in a bottle twice, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is the kind of movie I'd have dreamed of when I was younger. It isn't a 1:1 retelling, but an amalgamation of many video game stories that knows where to be faithful, and where to add layers, building on the foundations set by the already surprising first film, with a cast enjoying themselves all the way through.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 still has a lot of the previous film's problems with too heavy a focus on the human characters and occasionally dull comedy, but it still manages to be a fun film that builds off its predecessor to create a story with more action and surprisingly more heart. The live-action Sonic the Hedgehog films have exceeded all expectations, and the third film is sure to be even better.

Can't wait to Sonic Movie 3 in December

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was a fun movie that brought in some of the other characters from the franchise that didn't appear in the first film. It had its issues for sure, but I'm still eagerly anticipating the third movie this winter.
