Synopsis
Spring Breakers centers on Brit (Ashley Benson), Candy (Vanessa Hudgens), Cotty (Rachel Korine), and Faith (Selena Gomez), four best friends who need money for a Spring Break vacation. To fast-track their funds, Brit, Candy, and Cotty commit armed robbery at a local restaurant and then leave for Florida with Brit. The four girls then become involved with Alien (James Franco), a drug dealer who claims to be from another planet.

As a whole, this makes for an audacious, yet enthralling and even transcendent, portrait of maturity sprouting from a place of corruption and avarice.

Had no idea what I was getting myself into when I watched this and the abrupt turn it takes into more of an arthouse piece is actually impressive. The Britney Spears needle drop is what dreams are made of. Can't believe James Franco, man.

This movie has so much goofiness that ends up being surprisingly entertaining, but there's also some weird beauty in there that genuinely works.
