This show is the reason I canceled Disney plus

underrated show

I really enjoyed the first two episodes of this series, but three left me baffled. Can't believe Koganada directed the two flashback ones. Feels like I'm being Punk'd. The choreography is the high point in this series as well as Smilo Ren. A shame it was cancelled but didn't need to see more story for the twins.

I enjoyed the show and want to see more.

I'm very sad about the Acolyte. I love Star Wars and dearly want it to succeed as a franchise. But the Acolyte has drained me of hope.

The story was poorly written. This is it's primary flaw. Most of it's other faults could probably be forgiven, but Star Wars is a mythology that means so much to so many people. It has literally helped to form western culture. The franchise deserved better than this poorly written entry.

It's a shame because not everything about this show was bad. But if the story is nonsense then the good things have nothing to hang from.

Hoping future entries will do better, but I won't hold my breath.

The Acolyte brings a refreshing change of pace to the Star Wars universe, blending a murder mystery with horror vibes and featuring a diverse cast. Here’s what stood out:

Jodie Turner-Smith’s performance was captivating, bringing fresh energy to the series. Carrie-Ann Moss delivered a powerful portrayal, while Manny Jacinto’s charisma made his character a highlight.

The fight choreography provided thrilling, dynamic combat scenes. The innovative use of Force powers and lightsabers added excitement, with a Wookie wielding a lightsaber being a fan’s dream.

However, Vernestra’s character felt underdeveloped, and I struggled to care about Osha and Mae, detracting from the emotional weight. Some parts of the script and episode structure lacked the strength for a fulfilling narrative arc, making moments feel disted.

Despite its drawbacks, The Acolyte carves out its own identity. The fight scenes are exhilarating, though some CGI scenes feel lackluster compared to the rest of the Star Wars franchise. While weak in areas of character development and script, the series offers enough excitement and strong performances to be a worthwhile addition to the Star Wars saga.

Great cast. Great story. Shows why the Jedi have the too old to train rule and reminds you how blind they are to feeling the darkside. Great show. The pace was good too. Way better pacing than the very slow and drawn out Mandalorian series.

The Acolyte provides a more nuanced view on what drives a force sensitive being to choose to become a Jedi or turn to the dark side. It moves beyond Jedi always being the good guys that can do no wrong, and Sith being evil just because.

This is grown up Star Wars they is still enjoyable for the kids. My 10 yr old loved Osha and Mae.

Acolyte was a breath of fresh air in the Star Wars franchise.

I watched for 10 minutes until they revealed the LGBT agenda and I turned it off. If Disney wants the Star Wars franchise to survive, then stop with the overt agenda and return to what worked.

This series had its high points and low points. Fight choreography was great but could've done without the use of Wire-fu. Some of the characters were creative: Jecki, Qmir, Sol...

I think this series detracts from the uniqueness of The Chosen One by having twins born of the Force and representing a dyad of sorts. It just didn't feel right.

The Plagueius cameo was cool but didn't go anywhere. The quasi-love flirt whatever between the protagonist and antagonist was lackluster.

But, it was new Star Wars. And new Star Wars is like pizza, tacos, and sex... Even when it's bad it's better than none at all.

I absolutely loved this show and was extremely let down that it got canceled. All because people just had to put a bunch of negative comments online about it. If u didn't like it, then that's fine. Just don't watch it. But don't ruin it for the rest of us that truly loved it and wanted to see more. The fact that they canceled it makes me want to cancel Disney +. I would cancel it, in fact I did, but my kids like watching Star Wars and other things on there. But, seriously The Acolyte was insanely good to me. And I wish there were more shows that got more in depth to the story line. But just don't cancel it before we can see the rest of the story. Haters are gonna hate. Don't let them ruin it for the non-haters.

Not perfect but pretty dang good. Only needed some minor tweaks in the second season to really take off.

There is no perfect movie, show, or production of art, but overall this was a spectacular addition to Star Wars and truly changed the purely binary Good vs Evil simplistic dichotomy of Star Wars and truly improved the franchise, and this coming from a long time fan and resistant to the prequel trilogy.

This show has hands down above and beyond the two best lightsaber battles/fights in Star Wars history! Of course there are some issues, hey look at all of the issues with the original trilogy, but this is an amazing show and I truly hope Disney/Lucas Film reverses their decision and brings the show back.

The Acolyte was the much-needed breath of fresh-air for the Star Wars franchise, drawing viewers away from the Skywalker Saga and creating a whole-new period ripe for exploration. Between a compelling murder mystery turned-Rashomon-esque tragedy, the series was both an embrace of Lucas' style of taking inspiration from what he loved while also considering what came before. The cast were compelling, even with the short time spent with them, and should it be revisited, could lead to an all-time great saga in the Galaxy Far Far away.

I thoroughly enjoyed it & the fight scenes with Master Sol were 1st Rate!! Story starts out a little slow but was well worth it!!

What were they thinking. An abhorrent attempt to inject new vision into the Jedi High Order and by default made them all look incompetent. The characters were loathsome, the story was poorly built, with no clear vision or pull. If this is the bench mark for new projects moving forward then this IP is in real trouble.

Definitely had it's moments and certain episodes were better than others, the action was decent but not as great as so many made them out to be, I would say the fighting choreography was better than your average SW Series and on par with the Original Trilogy but underwhelming compared to the Prequels and I refuse to compare anything to the Sequel Trilogy as I find those films utterly offensive to Star Wars in every way possible.

That said, the writing at times was outright flat to horrid and the acting nor action could save it for most of Season 1, I could care less if they continue it to be honest. I feel Headland continued Kennedy's Agenda of destroying Star Wars and it's nostalgia while flaunting it to sell the story as Kathleen did with the Sequels and then asked the old fans she once easily discarded to give it a chance in order to save it, despite her saying it was not going to be for everyone in the fandom from day one.

Bad acting, no plot, and horrible artistry. 🙄

Look it's hear for some to it it but the real problem with the show was the god awful acting. The main character had no deep in expression nor was the writing captivating.
