Fun, campy, joyful superhero fun that ultimately knows its audience is there for a comfortable time and doesn't ask anything more. Melissa Benoist is great casting and nails the civilian and superhero sides of the character.

I used to really dig Supergirl in the first season. Enjoy seeing her weekly adventures and was glad that the CW was able to bring her into the Arrowverse. Good things don't last, though, and it was a slog to get through the the end. The network spread itself way too thing with all the DC shows and the production values of each one significantly suffered because of it.

While I don't love every creative choice made in this series that differs from the comics, I think it really captures the spirit of Supergirl's energy, vibe, and overall tone from the comics perfectly, better than any other media that's depicted her and her stories (so far at least).
