The Dark Knight is a damn near perfect superhero film, making it hard to follow-up. I though that Rises was pretty thrilling from the opening sequence, and as made fun of as he is, Bane is a strong villain overall. And a good culmination to the trilogy with its reveals.

One of my favorite superhero movies ever. I don't care that it isn't as tightly wound as The Dark Knight, it's my favorite in the trilogy and Tom Hardy's Bane and his build was an inspiration to me freshman year of college. Stunningly beautiful with some of the most memorable lines from any comic book adaptation.

While it isn't quite as good as Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises is phenomenal. The acting is excellent, the visuals are stunning, and the fight sequences are well-choreographed. Bane is an entertaining villain. The final movie is still high on my list of my favorite comic book adaptations.

Legend Christopher Nolan With Legend Christan Bale and Legend Heath Ledger What less can you Expect Just Perfect

Questionable casting choices aside and an out-of-nowhere reveal that feels unearned, The Dark Knight Rises is a strong ending. Alongside having one of the best entrances in cinema, Hardy's Bane is imposing and terrifying, living up to how deadly the character should be as opposed to a hulking bruiser, challenging his ideals and physical prowess unlike any other foe. The rest of the cast are also excelling in their roles, and the ending feels earned for this incarnation of the Dark Knight, even if it feels somewhat out of the source material's character.

Dark Knight Rises is fine, completing the trilogy whose premise is Batman as a Bush-era conservative. Christian Bale was never a good call for Bruce Wayne, and this movie hinging on the hero reclaiming his humanity plays away from all Bale's strengths. There are some interesting decisions, like Bruce Wayne's body being ravaged by his vigilante career, but unfortunately nothing that makes this film more than missable.
