A great movie from start to finish. It's really thought provoking and stays with you even after the credits have rolled. The acting is all fantastic and the sets really immerse the viewer in the era where the movie takes place. The costuming and cinematography choices all inform the story as well, subtly influencing the viewer in a really cool way.

I was pretty perturbed with how much sympathy I felt that this film was giving the the queen that definitely exploited the main characters extremely. I don't think it's Lanthimos' best by any means.

Yorgos Lanthimos makes movies like no one else these days, including this absurdist fever dream about drama in the Queen's court as two maids become beasts clawing at straws to win the Queen's favor, and hopefully, a leg up in society.

A great movie--I had to watch it for a class I took on the Restoration period and while not everything is historically accurate the competition between Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz's characters was amazing. The storyline about Queen Anne being unable to give birth to a child was handled quite well and fit the film's overall message about trauma and how it can follow one throughout their life.
