Cotton Marcus, a reverand in Louisiana, has lost his faith and allows filmmakers Iris and Daniel to document him, hoping to delegitimize the practice of exorcism. However, when the reverend is called to perform an exorcism on a teenage girl named Nell, he and the others find that demonic forces may be far real than they believed.
