The Polar Express is a Christmas classic with a fun and fantastical story. When I was a kid, I always wished I could get picked up by The Polar Express for a night of adventure, and even as an adult, I still have that same wish every winter when I rewatch the movie.

Used to really like this movie but over the years have grown to think that it is just okay. I actually like the motion capture style of this film. It isn't uncanny for me because it is never trying to look super realistic. Think it is a bit more boring than I used to think it was. Also think it is a beautiful looking movie.

I love this movie the first time that I watched it, but when I watch it back now I'm hit by the horrifying uncanny valley effect of the characters' faces. That doesn't change how magical and emotional I feel any time that I hear the Josh Groban song at the end.

A brilliant Xmas film . I watch every Xmas . The music is full of Xmas tunes . Which adds to the magic .
