Synopsis
Directed by Paul Michael Glaser, The Running Man is a sci-fi action film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as Captain Ben Richards, a former cop who's forced to compete in a deadly game show where criminals fight for their lives. The 1987 movie is based on a Stephen King novel under his pen name Richard Bachman.

While not a brilliant movie, The Running Man is just as entertaining as any Schwarzenegger action movie of the time. The action is entertaining if not a little repetitive, while the dystopian aesthetic manages to strike a good balance between camp and formidable, even if much better productions at the time had a tighter grasp on its themes.
