  • One of the few Alan Moore adaptations that seems to have understood the assignments. Others pulled their punches or didn't want to say the real themes out loud, but V for Vendetta carried it to the finish line, scoring the touchdown and mixing all of the metaphors. Also, this movie featured the guy who played Patrick in Coupling, and it's always nice to see someone from Coupling in something else.

  • Out of all of the adaptations of Alan Moore's works, the Wachowskis V For Vendetta reigns as the best. Just as powerful and provocative as the original with all the flair and spectacle of The Matrix, the movie's tale is brought to life by a talented cast, with Portman's Evie's transformatin from bystander to revolutionary being an endeering watch, while Hugo Weaving's V is a captivating figurehead against the tyranny of Norsefire.
