  • This movie is definitely style over substance epitomized. I am no Mark Millar fan, and this comic book in particular has his worst tropes on full display, but the premise itself was so simple, being a world where the villains won and were pulling the strings. Instead the movie opts to make it a more convoluted mess of an ancient assassin order, which both feels unimaginative, yet too complex with how they present it. The absurd visuals are this movie's single saving grace.

Wanted tries oh so hard to be the next Matrix, but despite insane amounts of action, falls short.
