  • Disted and overblow, it's fun to see some of these characters again, but the movie also makes it unavoidable how little development they've been given.

  • I think this is plenty entertaining, and a decent effort in the X-Men universe. Personally, I’m more partial towards X-Men: First Class, which I think is more character focused than this more plot-heavy piece, though there are some great sequences.

  • This is a strong entry for the X-Men series, and could have been a fine conclusion to both the modern and prequel stories if allowed. Everyone gets a chance to shine from the original cast as their last hurrah, even the much underutilized Rogue if you count the Rogue cut. I do wish First Class's ing cast wasn't culled off-screen though. The embrace of the comic-book-y, even still partially trapped in that gritty early 2000s vision lacking any colour, helps this movie hit the scale it needs while not compromising on story, making it one of the more solid FOX XMen adaptations.

  • Used to love it more than I do now but still think it is one of the best movies in the X-Men franchise. Quicksilver is the obvious highlight of the movie but the emotional core of Xavier and Magneto is as good as ever. Really love the scene where Stewart talks to McAvoy.

  • Easily one of the best X-Men movies. The opportunity to see both the original cast and younger casts of X-Men in the same movie is exceptional. While of course DOFP has its plot holes and continuity errors Fox's X-Men universe is infamously known for, it's still a pretty creative and in-universe way to reboot the X-Men franchise with a new generation of actors by using one of the most beloved X-Men stories from the original comics.

Synopsis

Based on the epic Marvel comic event and following up after the events of X-Men: The Last Stand and The Wolverine, X-Men: Days of Future Past is an action superhero film that sees Logan sent back into the past to attempt to avert a cataclysmic disaster. In the future, the last surviving of the human and mutant races are facing the end of days as the Sentinel menace has nearly wiped everything out of existence. Out of options and out of time, Professor Charles Xavier and Eric Lehnsherr (aka Magneto) agree to send Logan back into the past to prevent the assassination of a man that leads to the end of the world.
