Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok. He fully embraced the Jack Kirby era of Marvel comics, taking the Thor franchise to new heights critically and financially.

The success of Ragnarok put both he and Marvel in an odd spot though. The movie was supposed to be the end of Thor's trilogy, but fans (and Chris Hemsworth) are now more in love with Thor than ever - especially after Avengers: Infinity War. But, with Thor's story possibly over, Waititi's return isn't set in stone, and he's moved on to direct Jojo Rabbit. However, a meeting possibly in regards to his return has reportedly happened.

THR reports that Marvel Studios recently had a meeting with Taika Waititi to discuss another collaboration. The exact project that could bring them back together isn't currently known. Considering the lack of official details on what happens after Avengers 4, it could be for a variety of projects both known and unknown. Even though there's no word on how the meeting went, it does appear that Waititi could return to the MCU sooner than later.

Waititi has been the top choice of almost anyone when it comes to naming a Guardians 3, especially if the movie somehow folds the Thor franchise into it.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has been Thor 4Guardians 3, or something else entirely, Waititi's MCU return is at the very least being discussed.
