Farrah Abraham is defending herself from her critics after the Teen Mom star revealed she allowed her 13-year-old daughter to get a septum piercing. Fans first met Farrah on MTV's 16 & Pregnant, where cameras followed her during the last months of her pregnancy and her first days of motherhood. She was on the show for seven seasons but was let go from her contract for refusing to end her adult film career. Her last scene on the show showcased an argument she had with an executive producer for showing up to her house to film when she was busy with other projects. At the time of her departure, none of the other moms on the show were friendly with her, with some even refusing to film if she returned.

Since leaving the show, Farrah has not taken herself out of the spotlight and continues to comment on the lives of her former co-stars. In January 2022, Farrah was filmed getting detained by law enforcement after she got into an altercation with a security guard outside Grandmaster Records. She claimed this experience was so traumatic that it caused her to move out of California. Aside from the mental health problems it caused, she claimed to also have been injured in the altercation. This is the second time Farrah has had an issue with a security guard, having received a two-year probation sentence in 2018 for hitting a security guard in The Beverly Hills Hotel.

The reality star is now defending herself against those who question her parenting decisions when it comes to her daughter, Sophia. As reported by Farrah called herself a cool mom who loves her daughter and assured everyone it was done safely. She claimed she would much rather have done it this way than have Sophia try to get it done herself and end up getting an infection or something more serious. In her opinion, 13-year-old's today are different than when she was 13, and Sophia is the first in her family to pierce her nose. To those who think it was an inappropriate decision, Farrah explained that everything was done legally, and she made sure of that before going through with it.

This isn't the first time Farrah's parenting choices have been questioned by fans. In the past, Farrah has been criticized for having Sophia, who was 12 at the time, promote a pregnancy test brand on Instagram. Farrah's own mother, Debra Danielsen, spoke out, saying she was afraid for her granddaughter's safety. After Farrah's second arrest, Debra came out against her daughter, claiming it's time Farrah stop blaming everyone else for her actions and finally face the consequences. She went on to say if someone never faces consequences for their bad behavior, they will never learn or grow from their mistakes and correct their behavior. The two famously did not get along throughout their entire run on Teen Mom, but it is still shocking for a mother to speak so negatively about her daughter.

Farrah has gone through a lot since MTV began filming her life for Teen Mom. It will be interesting to see if she will ever manage to repair her relationship with both of her parents and one day win over fans. Her appearance on the spin-off series saw her and Amber set aside their differences, so maybe it is possible for her to mend fences with other cast as well.
