Spoilers for DCeased War of the Undead Gods #6!The heroes of DCeased are closing in on the final battle against Cyborg's new upgrade just made him a major figure in shutting down the ultimate zombie apocalypse. With countless superpowered infected coming from Apokolips, Krypton, New Genesis, Rann, Korugar, and Thanagar, the Anti-Living Virus is now a universal threat - one that only Cyborg can successfully repel.
With time running out and not many options available, the heroes of Earth-2 decided to work with the hyper-intelligent alien Brainiac to find a way to stop the spread of the Anti-Living Virus. In DCeased: War of the Undead Gods #6 by Tom Taylor and Trevor Hairsine, the villain Brainiac, Cyborg, and Jonathan Kent’s Superman attempt to subdue an infected Darkseid. Brainiac, however, becomes infected during the fight and rampages throughout his own collection of shrunken cities. Cyborg is able to stop Brainiac by hacking into his mind and taking control of his ship and technology. Victor gains the immense knowledge and power of Brainiac, and even adopts a new design that combines his chassis with Brainiac’s mechanical tendrils and glowing purple lights.
Cyborg Takes Brainiac's Tech & Secrets
Cyborg has received plenty of upgrades throughout his time on the Teen Titans, Titans and Justice League. He has the traditional abilities of flight, strength, and energy projection, but his mechanical side grants him control over a variety of technologies, including the Mother Box that lets him open teleportation portals to anywhere he wishes. But his previous abilities can't compare to those of his Brainiac upgrade. Brainiac's tech gives Cyborg control over a vast army of androids, a weapon that can shrink down entire cities, and a ninth-level intellect that can process information faster and better than anyone in the universe. Indeed, having absorbed Brainiac, Cyborg immediately cracks the secret to enlarging his collection of shrunken cities, unleashing an army of Kryptonians on the side of the heroes.
Cyborg's New Powers Unlock His Path to Redemption
DCeased’s version of Cyborg has undergone a long road to redemption since the beginning of the series. The Anti-Life plague began when Darkseid attempted to complete the Anti-Life Equation by experimenting on the part of the formula that lay within Cyborg. Instead of receiving the ability to control others as he expected, Darkseid accidentally unleashed a techno-organic virus upon the universe. Cyborg was then teleported to Earth where he accidentally spread the virus through the internet, infecting and killing hundreds of millions of people. Cyborg eventually found the cure and saved many lives, but only after billions had already paid the price. Now, he actually has a way to balance the scales.
Cyborg may still find redemption after all these years by curing the entire universe of Anti-Life, not just Earth. With his power, he’s already restored the last cities of many now-dead civilizations, and has bolstered the forces of life to take down Darkseid and the cosmic villain Erebos. The world of DCeased may be a truly dark place, but there's always a spark of hope, and Cyborg's new form is set to kindle that spark into an infero.
