Cartoon Network has announced a new movie, Teen Titans Go! is a long-running animated series on the network, currently in the midst of season 7. The show is a spinoff of the original Teen Titans that was made in a different style of animation but featured the same characters and voice actors. Teen Titans Go! focuses on younger versions of classic DC heroes including Robin, Raven, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Starfire. Other well-known characters have appeared as well, usually in cameo or similarly brief appearances. These include Batgirl, Aquaman, and Superman.

In addition to over 300 episodes, there have also been two Teen Titans Go! films. Teen Titans Go! To the Movies came out in 2018 and was considered both a critical and commercial success. Though that movie received a theatrical release, the next, Teen Titans Go! vs. Teen Titans, debuted in 2019 as a direct-to-video feature. It served as a crossover between the two Teen Titans series and also received a largely positive response from audiences and critics.

Now, a third Teen Titans Go! movie is on the way. Per Space Jam: A New Legacy on July 16. Check out the official synopsis and trailer from Cartoon Network below:

In Teen Titans Go! See Space Jam, the Teen Titans are visited by the Nerdlucks, the iconic Space Jam villains who tried to capture Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes. Astonished to discover his fellow Titans have never seen Space Jam, Cyborg organizes an exclusive watch party. Of course, if the Titans are watching a movie, don’t expect silence to be golden. Raven and Starfire provide the commentary, Cyborg presents the fun facts, Beast Boy points out the butt shots, and Robin…well, Robin doesn’t trust their new alien friends. Are the Nerdlucks here to attend an innocent watch party, or do they have more sinister motives up their sleeves?

This news is exciting for both those who enjoy Teen Titans Go! and Space Jam. It will be fun to see the two properties come together in this way, and the trailer makes the movie look like a fun adventure for both sets of characters. It's also a smart way for Warner Bros. to build anticipation for Space Jam: A New Legacy and possibly bring in a new audience for the film. Kids watching Teen Titans Go! weren't around when the first Space Jam movie came out in 1996, but this crossover film could make them want to check out the sequel when it comes out in July.

It's also neat that Teen Titans GO! See Space Jam will bring together the worlds of DC and one of WB's other popular franchises. Though it may seem like a surprising pairing, the trailer indicates the two are actually a good fit and more than capable of leading an exciting movie together. Viewers will be able to see the Nerdlucks cause trouble for the Teen Titans when the new film airs next month.
