Teen Titans has had numerous episodes across 5 seasons. Pretty much every episode has something positive to offer, and some have gone down as the best superhero cartoon episodes ever. But when it comes to figuring out which episodes are objectively the best amongst fans, it can be hard to decide.

But the website Reddit allows fans to discuss their favorite episodes, and why they consider these episodes to be the best. Ultimately, through Reddit threads, it is possible to create a consensus about which episodes are most likely the greatest overall.

Birthmark (S4, E3)

Raven stands with red marks all over her in Teen Titans

The episode "Birthmark" begins Raven's big arc with her father, Trigon. Many Redditors love this episode, including ALundstrom10, who states, "Birthmark was a phenomenal episode. It's chilling but a great start to the Trigon arc. It goes to show that the longer the show went by, the more comfortable the writers and directors got with it. They got better as the show went along and produced some of the greatest episodes of the series."

The show definitely got darker and more mature as it went along, and fans very much appreciated the showrunners for that, as it has allowed the series to be popular amongst children and adults alike.

Lightspeed (S5, E8)

Jinx informs H.I.V.E of her new plan in Teen Titans

"Lightspeed" is an interesting episode, as it doesn't actually include the Titans, instead focusing on the Hive Five as they battle Kid Flash. The episode features Jinx, one of the most likeable Teen Titans villains. Because of this, Redditor TWEEVES loves this episode: "I always thought that Jinx was a super interesting character and I got super excited to see her have an episode of her own."

Reddit redstar99 also loved this episode, as "Kid Flash is definitely one of my favorite characters ever and the interaction between him and the Hive was priceless." Kid Flash is definitely a series highlight, as he always makes the episodes that he's in very funny.

How Long Is Forever? (S2, E1)

"How Long is Forever?" is a standout episode due to how dark it gets, as it takes a look into a future in which the Teen Titans have fallen apart as a team, and their lives have become much worse as a result.

As stated by Redditor ALundstrom10, "Seriously it was dark. Watching it for the first time a couple months ago was real sobering. It was a great way to start a season though. With Star being my favorite Titan, it was cool to see how far her heart for her teammates went. It showed how prominent of a role she plays in being the glue of the team. Definitely one of her stronger episodes, if not the strongest."

The End (Parts I, II, & III) (S4 E11,12,13)

The culmination of Raven's arc with her evil father Trigon is a three-parter, and each episode is fantastic, as the Titans have to deal with the literal end of the world. One Redditor claims that this series of episodes, particularly the first one, "is one of my favorites. When Raven becomes the portal, her conversation with her friends right before... I almost cri every time."

These episodes definitely show a more emotional side to Raven, which is both fascinating and heartbreaking to watch. The fights in the episodes are also spectacular, including when Robin fights alongside Slade, and the other Titans must fight evil versions of themselves.

Apprentice (Part I & II) (S1, 11&12)

Robin confronts Slade in Teen Titans

This episode is interesting as it features Robin doing and saying things that go against his character, when he is forced to Slade as his apprentice. This was the finale for season 1, and it showed viewers just how intense the series could go.

According to Redditor jdspiano27, "these two episodes are FANTASTIC! they were the first ones I saw not too long ago when I got into the series and MAN! I was hooked! Now anytime I want to re-watch some episodes, these two are always the ones I want to see. I absolutely love Robin's character arc and Slade is an amazing villain so they are just great!"

Mad Mod (S1, E10)

While fans adore the Teen Titans episodes that go a little darker, there is still a lot of love left for the goofier ones, and this includes "Mad Mod." As stated by Reddit StefyB, "My favorite episode was the one with Mad Mod where they kept getting hypnotized. It was just a really fun episode that I used to watch over and over when I was younger."

The episode isn't afraid to get wacky, and there is plenty of immature humor to enjoy from Beast Boy. For younger fans it was probably a welcome break from how dark the series had been getting at that point, as it was well into the Robin vs Slade arc.

Haunted (S3, E5)

Starfire cries as Robin angrily grabs her arm in Teen Titans

As stated by Reddit Mrfreddybob, when it comes to what episode is best, "For me it has to be season 3 episode 5: 'Haunted'. The one where Robin is hallucinating Slade and is slowly destroying himself. It's terrifying and brilliant and one of the best written episodes."

This episode is arguably the darkest episode as it really explores Robin's traumatised psyche. The episode is also brutal, as shown by the numerous times when Robin attempts to fight Slade, and almost dies. Slade is well known to be one of the best Teen Titans villains, and he really gets to shine here, even though he is in Robin's imagination.

Aftershock (Part I & II) (S2, E12&13)

Terra fights Robin and Cyborg in Teen Titans

Terra's arc has always been a beloved arc by fans, and on Reddit it is no different. As argued by Reddit TWEEVES, "I loved the season two finale, aftershock. It was probably the best finale in my opinion. There were so many intense moments and so much excitement throughout the entire finale."

The season 2 final episodes are both exciting, but also incredibly emotional, as Terra learns the error of her ways, and sacrifices herself in order to save everyone else. Now Terra's fate remains one of the burning questions of Teen Titans, as her mysterious return in the final season left many fans confused about who she had become.

Nevermore (S1, E6)

Three different colored ravens in Teen Titans

"Nevermore" was an episode that let viewers discover who Raven really was, which was a treat as Raven had been incredibly secretive up until that point. And according to one Redditor, it is "Such a great episode, it was this episode that I started liking Raven and now she's my favorite superhero. Also this is the point when I started to become more interested in the show."

This episode shows a lot more about how Raven's powers work, which were always very spooky and fascinating. The episode also has a lot of potential Beast Boy and Raven moments, which a lot of fans tend to like.

Betrayal (S2, E10)

Terra leans on Beast Boy in Teen Titans

Terra has always been a fascinating character, as she was torn between Slade and the Teen Titans. This is likely why fans love this episode, as it depicts the height of her conflicting emotions. This conflict ends in a dramatic conversation between her and Beast Boy, and two epic fights against Slade's forces.

Though, according to bliffay, the main draw of the episode is the brief moment of peace Terra gets when she and Beast Boy go on a date together: "I would say "Betrayal" is the best, because of the 2 solid minutes of happiness when Beast Boy & Terra are on a date holding hands & smiling at the amusement park."
