MTV's MTV brought it to its end.
Over the course of those six seasons, Teen Wolf alternately made its audience laugh and cry. In addition to hilarious one-liners, the show brought us great quotes to inspire us and make us think. These quotes perfectly encapsulate what the show was all about.
Updated on January 29th, 2022 by Amanda Bruce: Love for Teen Wolf never ends, and neither does a fan's ability to quote the characters. Fans have been clamoring for more iconic Teen Wolf quotes in the form of a reunion or revival since the series ended, and they will get their wish in the future. Paramount Plus has a movie in development with most of the original cast expected to return. Fans will have to be ready for even more quotable lines from the McCall pack.
Scott Has One Real Priority
"Scott's Always Been About One Thing: Saving His Friends."
When Ethan and Aiden want to the McCall pack for their own safety, Derek warns them that Scott won't let them in because of their untrustworthy past. He encourages the twins to prove themselves to the McCall pack, to prove that they can be trusted and that they want to be there for them.
As Derek points out, Scott's single priority in the entire series run is saving the people he cares about. Sometimes, that's his mom or his girlfriend, but more often than not, it's the friends he's made at school. Supernatural danger targeting other teenagers is something he always has to face head-on, and Ethan and Aiden aren't always up for that.
Lydia Knows She's Different
"I'm Not Like You Guys. I Don't Have Claws... I Just Have Voices In My Head."
The journey to Lydia figuring out just how powerful she is has a lot of twists and turns, and a lot of fear for her that her mind isn't entirely sound. She slowly learns not to think so much about what other people think, but that doesn't mean she isn't scared of some of the supernatural creatures she encounters thanks to her relationship with Scott and his pack.
Lydia doesn't learn how to use her banshee abilities offensively right away, and that leaves her very vulnerable when she's walking in a trance to the locations of dead bodies or zoning out at school to listen to things no one else hears. It's lucky she has friends who are able to help train her to own her power.
Scott Starts Off Very Naive
"My Mom Does All The Grocery Shopping!"
It's made very clear to the audience that Teen Wolf is Scott's show because of how massive his growth is. He and Lydia are undeniably the two characters with the best arc, and this early line in the series is actually a great indicator of that for Scott. He's incredibly naive.
This Teen Wolf quote comes courtesy of Jackson demanding that Scott tell him where he gets his juice. Scott's werewolf abilities lead Jackson to think that Scott is on some sort of drug, but Scott has no idea what he's talking about for most of the conversation. By the end of the show, he's easily one of the wisest characters in a big turn.
Stiles Wants To Be The Hero
"Please Shut Up And Let Me Save Your Life."
Stiles might carry a trusty baseball bat, but she's not the guy getting into the knock-down, drag-out, fights of the series. He's the guy with the bulletin board combing through files and doing his best Google search to get answers. That's part of the reason him being the one to get into Eichen House while the others assist from afar is so important when he decides to save Lydia.
It's also important because it's Lydia. Lydia is consistently one of the most important people in Stiles' life, even when she's not aware of it. Her listening and actually letting him help her is a big step for them.
Noah Dishes Out Some Wise Words
"You've Got To Let Your Heart Catch Up With Your Head."
Of the parents in the show, it's usually Melissa McCall who gets the wiser Teen Wolf quotes. Every so often, however, Noah Stilinski has a gem as well. This one is in response to Stiles' guilt over killing Donovan in self-defense.
Stiles struggles with what he did, especially when Scott ostracizes him, thinking he's a murderer as a result of Theo's influence. Logically, Stiles knows he was trying to prevent Donovan from killing him, but his emotions don't follow that logic, and his father knows eventually the two will understand one another.
Fear Is A Great Motivator
"Scared People Will Do Things That You Wouldn't Believe."
Much of Teen Wolf is devoted to keeping the supernatural beings secret from the world around them, but when Gerard returns to Beacon Hills with a new apprentice, a large part of the Beacon Hills population begins to understand that there's more going on around them than they first thought - and they're terrified of it.
While Malia maintains that people listening to Gerard and starting to use weapons they don't understand is stupid, Scott, who has seen just about everything by that point, realizes how dangerous it is. As the population continues to give in too far, more and more of the teens are put in danger, creating a new hurdle for the show.
Stiles And Lydia Have Different Priorities
"You Called The Police Before You Called Me?"
Stiles tends to be the person who puts together the clues. When things get strange, he starts lining up the puzzle pieces to see what fits. That's part of the reason he expects his friends in the supernatural community to always come to him first.
When he and Lydia first become friends, and her abilities first start to manifest, that's not the case. Lydia doesn't entirely buy into everything supernatural, so when her abilities lead her to a dead body, she calls the police, not giving Stiles the chance to analyze the situation. That slowly changes throughout the show as Lydia and Stiles become an unstoppable team.
Melissa And Noah Aren't Always On The Same Page
"Maybe You Should Learn To Bend Before Someone Breaks."
Though Teen Wolf is a show full of unrealistic things, one of the most real aspects of the series is just how much Melissa McCall is willing to go through for her son. There is no rule she won't bend to help him and his friends once she finds out about him being a werewolf.
That's a little different than Sheriff Stilinski. After all, as the town sheriff, it's a little harder for him to bend rules on a large scale, a little more noticeable. He's resistant to helping in the same way as Melissa for a long time, stuck in a world of rigid rules and boundaries. It's where the friendship between the two parents cracks a little bit as they find themselves on opposite sides of the issue.
Scott Faces A Lot Of Drama
"What's Going On With Me? You Really Wanna Know? Well, So Would I!"
The characters who end up in the middle of the supernatural world frequently have no idea what's really going on - even with themselves. That's true when Scott first says this line early in the series, and it's still true by the end.
Kira doesn't understand her abilities when they first manifest, no does Lydia. Malia has to adjust to the human world while Allison has to adjust to the world of the hunters. Scott and Liam have similar experiences in figuring out how to use their abilities and anchor themselves. The show's characters all experience steep learning curves.
Allison Wants To Pave Her Own Path
"There's No Such Thing As Fate."
Allison leads a harder life than most. She spends most of her childhood moving around and not getting the chance to make friends before she learns that her family is made up of werewolf hunters. When she finally does make friends, they're ones her family wants to eliminate.
Allison takes everything she knows about the world and decides she wants to create her own path. She doesn't put her faith in fate, and that's a pretty defining trait for all of the main characters in the show. They don't just allow the chips to fall as they may but continue to play the game, no matter how close to losing they might be.
