The characters in Teen Wolf are portrayed in several different lights and none are the same person they were in the pilot episode. The McCall Pack evolves as Scott becomes an inspiration to other supernatural creatures, yet it takes some of them a while to come around.

The organic evolution of the characters creates incredible arcs in Teen Wolf, and each individual receives a fair amount of development. Although they might've ended the show as heroes, there are several low-key villains who often cause problems for Scott and Stiles.

Agent McCall

Agent McCall at Beacon Hills High School in Teen Wolf.

Discovering that the rude and relentless FBI agent is actually Scott's father Teen Wolf. Stiles drops a bomb at the end of Season 3 Episode 11, "Alpha Pack" when he says the words, "your dad's in town."

Agent McCall is a far cry from a villain, but it's easy to see why he has such an estranged relationship with his son. While there's no excusing his past actions, Rafe does put forth a real effort to win Scott's trust. Scott believes that everyone deserves a second chance, but even he has trouble allowing his father back into his life.

Malia Tate

Malia Tate looking worried in Teen Wolf.

Her leftover coyote tendencies are clearly intended to be comedic, but it doesn't change the fact that Malia is a low-key villain for quite some time. She punches Stiles when they meet in Eichen House and doesn't appear grateful for what the McCall Pack did for her.

It's easy to recognize where Malia's anger comes from, as she's forced to readapt to society and face the reality of what happened to her family. Yet, Malia's animalistic nature makes her a wild card and it takes seasons for her to understand that murder is never the answer.

Chris Argent

Depending on the season, Chris could be considered an all-out villain. He goes after Scott multiple times and does everything in his power to keep him away from Allison. Yet, Chris dwindles in comparison to the other antagonists on the show, and he never feels like quite as big of a threat as the other Argents.

Chris's morality prevents him from doing anything unforgivable, and he even intercedes when the rest of his family goes too far. He begins to see the werewolves as teenagers instead of monsters, and Chris saves Boyd and Erica when Allison attacks them. His character development is impressive, as well as the familial bond he forms with Scott after Allison's death.

Lydia Martin

Lydia Martin looking off in Teen Wolf.

Lydia is the most well-developed and well-rounded character by the time Teen Wolf comes to a close, and it's made more impressive by her early behavior. She plays the role of the stereotypical mean girl and prioritizes popularity over comion.

Lydia is entertaining from the pilot episode, but she isn't a likable person by any means. She treats Stiles as if he doesn't exist, and only shows an interest in Scott after he becomes the lacrosse captain. It's obvious that Lydia is more than she seems, but it doesn't justify her cruelty in the first season.

Derek Hale

Derek Hale looking up at something in Teen Wolf.

Derek might be one of Scott's closest allies, but they don't start out on the best of . Scott struggles to adapt to his new life as a werewolf, and Derek isn't interested in being a teacher. He causes more problems than he solves, and the two are even at odds during Teen Wolf Season 2.

It isn't until Derek lets go of his desire for power that he begins to evolve—literally and figuratively. Even after he befriends Scott, Derek still isn't the most empathetic person to approach with an issue. He'll help, but he won't be happy about it.

Isaac Lahey

Isaac Lahey looking confused in Teen Wolf.

Isaac is so loyal to Scott that it's shocking that the two used to be at odds. However, when Isacc is introduced in Teen Wolf Season 2, he s Derek's pack and views Scott as the enemy. It's unlikely that he would've gone through with it, but Isaac threatens to kill Lydia when he suspects she may be the Kanima.

Isaac's arrogance is clearly a defense mechanism brought on by his unfortunate childhood. It doesn't take long for him to open his heart and align himself with Scott's beliefs. Isaac is only in Teen Wolf for two seasons, yet despite his rocky start, he remains one of the most beloved characters of the series.

Erica Reyes

Erica eating an apple in Teen Wolf.

Like Isaac, Erica s Derek's pack and actively works against Scott. She's patronizing and cruel after her transformation, yet it's clear where her behavior originates. While there's no way to excuse Erica's actions, they're brought on by how she's treated.

Erica is bullied due to her severe epilepsy and becomes grateful to Derek when the bite cures her. It makes sense that she latches onto someone who shows her kindness and that she turns a blind eye out of loyalty. Erica is never truly the problem, which eventually becomes apparent. Her relationship with Boyd is bittersweet, and Erica's death in Teen Wolf is particularly mortifying.

Ethan And Aiden

Due to their complexity and questionable morals, Ethan and Aiden would be entertaining protagonists in Teen Wolf. They can't be regarded as villains, but it's difficult to see them as heroes. The twins are responsible for Boyd's death—a loss that impacts the characters and audience greatly.

Ethan and Aiden don't have the best intentions, making it difficult not to judge their actions. However, it's clear that Ethan is capable of comion, and Aiden's involvement with Lydia changes him for the better. Aiden dies fighting the oni, and his sacrifice makes him worthy of redemption.

Jackson Whittemore

Jackson eating an apple in Teen Wolf.

There is an abundance of reasons why Jackson could be considered one of the major antagonists in Teen Wolf. Due to the way he's portrayed, it's difficult to officially label him as a villain. He treats the other characters horribly, yet is written to be a bully rather than a killer.

In a shocking twist, Jackson's body rejects his werewolf bite and he unknowingly becomes the Kanima. Since Jackson isn't in control of his actions, he can't be held able for them. However, he isn't innocent either. Scott repeatedly warns him against becoming a werewolf and Jackson refuses to listen.

Allison Argent

Allison Argent lost in thought in Teen Wolf.

Allison is a lethal tool the Argents attempt to bend to their will. She's manipulated by Kate and brainwashed by Gerard, and the ease at which it happens initially comes as a shock. Allison is determined to do what she thinks is right, yet her ethics are overshadowed by a desire for power.

She attacks Scott and Derek in Teen Wolf Season 1, and Chris physically steps in to stop his daughter from killing Boyd and Erica. Allison becomes an increasingly complex character with each season she's in, making her unpredictable. However, Allison has a good heart, which is exemplified by the majority of her actions.
