Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for Terrifier 3!Terrifier 3 director, Damien Leone, talks about the final kill in the film, revealing that he initially had something worse in mind. In Terrifier 3, Gabbie's mother is Art the Clown and Vicky's last victim. Being the final kill, her death is arguably the worst in the film, delivering a truly gruesome finish to what it already a shockingly gory movie.
In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant's Grant Hermanns, Leone itted that the death of Gabbie's mother "was supposed to be way worse." The director trimmed it down "a lot" to make the scene "almost subliminal." As a result, the final kill is "fast," despite being "so cruel and gruesome." Even though the scene ends up differently from what the director initially had in mind, Leone was "glad that it worked." Check out his full comment below:
I'm glad to hear that, especially because the scene with the mother was supposed to be way worse. I actually wound up trimming it a lot where the shots that you do see are almost subliminal and everything is so fast. But even still, it's just the idea of what's happening is so cruel and gruesome, so I'm glad that it worked.
What Damien Leone's Comment Means For Terrifier 3
It Could've Been Worse
Art the Clown tries to break Sienna Shaw's spirit by killing Gabbie's mother in front of her. This results in the final scene being the most gruesome death in the film. Terrifier 3 includes around two hours of gore and brutal deaths, an the final kill needed to deliver. Leone's comment explains that what makes the scene so devastating is the idea of what Art and Vicky are doing to the woman.

Terrifier 3's 9th Circle Book & Art The Clown Connection Explained
The ending of Terrifier 3 has a blink-and-you'll-miss-it reference to Art's history as a book title, and it could point to what's next for the clown.
The idea is simply so terrifying that prolonging the kill isn't necessary. The director also seemingly hints that the original plan for Terrifier 3's massive ending could be a lot worse than what's shown in the final theatrical cut. There's a chance that previous cuts of the film may have included even more gore and disturbing scenes. As such, a director's cut could be released in the future that includes these full scenes. And if not a full, alternate cut, then perhaps just some extended scenes will get released that would show the full scope of the horror that originally went down.`
Our Take On Art the Clown's Original Final Kill
Footage, Please
Terrifier 3 is packed with gruesome deaths, but nothing beats the final kill. Art the Clown outdoes himself once again by trying to torture Sienna by murdering someone she cares about right in front of her. I won't go into details here, but it does feel like the scene could be longer, even though it does the job of terrifying both Sienna and the audience.
There are only a handful of horror films out there that can match the level of brutality in Terrifier 3. The film really gets creative with Art's killing spree, and the final kill offers something the previous ones don't have: it shifts its focus from the victim to tormenting Sienna, who, like the audience, is watching Art. Leone's comment opens the door for possibilities. I'm really intrigued by his original plan, and a director's cut sounds like it could be pretty good.
