Terrifier 3 marks the return of Art the Clown, but it isn't the end of the franchise, which leaves questions about if there is a post-credits scene teasing the future. The Terrifier movies have evolved from micro-budget horror movies with a cult following to one with enough interest to sustain a wide theatrical release for the third entry. Terrifier 3 extends the story by bringing back Sienna (Lauren LaVera) as the lead protagonist, who once again finds herself in a position to fight for her life as Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) returns for Christmas.
With director Damien Leone already teasing that Terrifier 2's post-credits scene was vital to the mythology and setting up the threequel by showing Vicky (Samantha Scaffidi) return. It would be understandable to then believe that Terrifier 3 could have a post-credits scene setting up the fourth installment.
Terrifier 3 Does Not Have A Post-Credits Scene
There's Nothing Special In The Credits
It is confirmed that Terrifier 3 does not have a post-credits scene of any kind. There is no mid-credits or end-credits scene used to pay off a loose story thread or tease what else could come in Terrifier 4. It's a surprising revelation considering Leone used a credits scene with the previous movie, which could leave viewers expecting something in the credits again. Anyone watching Terrifier 3 does not have to worry about missing a key reveal in the credits, but it is still encouraged to sit through them to see the names of everyone who worked on the movie.
Why Terrifier 3 Does Not Have An After-Credits Scene
It Could Have Hurt The Ending
The reason why Terrifier 3 doesn't have a post-credits scene is fairly clear. It appears that Leone opted against a tag scene to keep the movie's actual ending intact. Leone has already signaled that another film with Art the Clown is on the way, so it was always expected that the threequel would set up the fourth installment in some capacity. Instead of using a post-credits scene, Terrifier 3's ending and the cliffhanger aspect of it is what Leone seemingly decided to do.
After seeing how Terrifier 3 ends, it makes sense why there is not a post-credits scene. Leone wanted to end the movie in a spot where the final moments essentially demand another film. It would be odd then to include a credits scene at any point and take away from the feeling of the cliffhanger. For that reason alone, it makes sense why Terrifier 3 doesn't have a post-credits scene setting up Terrifier 4.
