The decision not to bring back the original That '70s Show stars for season 2 is a promising sign for the sequel show's newcomers. Rather than relying on regular appearances from the original cast, Leia (Callie Haverda), Jay, Gwen (Ashley Aufderheide), Ozzie (Reyn Doi), Nikki (Sam Morelos), and Nate (Maxwell Acee Donovan) have a chance to further prove and endear themselves to viewers. Furthermore, the presence of Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty Foreman (Debra Jo Rupp) provides a staple connection to the original show.

Furthermore, Kunis and Kutcher not appearing in season 2 doesn't rule out all future That '90s Show appearances.
