Summary
- Qimir's helmet may be connected to a powerful Sith Lord, Darth Momin.
- Osha's sudden temptation by the helmet could be due to its dark side powers.
- The Acolyte may use this connection to explain Osha's potential possession and turn to the dark side.
Qimir/the Stranger's helmet in The Acolyte episode 5's Jedi deaths are more than enough proof of that.
However, episode 6 developed his character even further, specifically through his interactions with Osha. After taking Osha off Khofar, Qimir brought her to a remote island, currently only named Unknown Planet, with the intention of turning her to the dark side. While this at first seemed far-fetched based on how devoted Osha was to the light, she surprisingly became tempted throughout the episode, ultimately even putting his helmet on herself. Now, it seems, the implications of Osha wearing this helmet could be even greater based on one ancient Sith Lord.

The Acolyte's Sith Lord Helmet Explained
The Sith Lord of The Acolyte wore a very unique helmet, but it wasn't just a cool mask, it also helped him in battle in a few surprising ways.
Qimir's Helmet May Possess The Same Powers As Darth Momin's
While Osha's decision to try on Qimir's helmet was shocking in light of all that had preceded it, The Acolyte may have a good explanation, tied to another Sith Lord. Darth Momin, a Sith Lord in Star Wars canon, also had a helmet, and it wielded incredible power. When Momin died, his helmet retained his consciousness, and it had the ability to corrupt someone to the dark side of the Force.
One specific way a person could be corrupted by the mask was if they were left alone with it in an enclosed space, although in Darth Momin's case the mask did so with its glowing red eyes. Notably, this seems to be precisely what happened to Osha. Even without the glowing eyes, Osha is left alone with Qimir's mask, and she seems oddly drawn to it. However, Momin's mask could also fully possess and control someone once they'd worn it.
The mask could also fully possess and control someone once they'd worn it.
Interestingly, another massive hint that QImir's helmet may have a connection to this Sith Lord is the helmet's appearance. Like Qimir's, Darth Momin's mask was fractured and cracked. In The Acolyte episode 6, Qimir can be seen welding his helmet back together after Jecki Lon had cracked it in episode 5, which is how Qimir's true identity was revealed. Of course, Momin's mask isn't the only Star Wars mask that had similar cracks; Kylo Ren's, like Qimir's, was destroyed and needed to be reconstructed.
This Would Explain Osha's Sudden Change
If QImir's helmet does have powers similar to Darth Momin's, this would explain why Osha went from resolutely aligned with the Jedi to being tempted by Qimir's helmet. Yes, Qimir had attempted to corrupt her throughout the episode by claiming the Jedi had thrown her away (and, arguably, by swimming around with no clothes on in plain view—a more literal take on seducing someone to the dark side). Even with those attempts, though, Osha's sudden shift deserves further explanation.
Osha's sudden shift deserves further explanation.
This is particularly true in light of the level of Qimir's very recent brutality and cruelty. Osha even pointed this out to Qimir as he was attempting to corrupt her, saying that Qimir killed Yord, a friend Osha had since they were younglings, and Jecki, an innocent Padawan. It would be very strange and disappointing narratively for her to simply change on a dime without some larger influence.
I believe that The Acolyte is going to take this Darth Momin connection one step further, and it would make this plot line so much better. Even if Darth Momin is never named, it seems plausible that Qimir's helmet similarly drew Osha in and corrupted her. After all, she was left alone with the mask, and she was carefully eyeing it before walking over to it and putting it on. Now that she has put it on, I believe The Acolyte will reveal her to be fully possessed.
This would be an incredible plot twist and would explain any impending shocking behaviors, such as Osha turning on Master Sol. While The Acolyte hasn't confirmed that this is taking place, it seems likely, as Qimir represents a possible new master for Osha. A true dark side possession would believably explain why Osha would go from a devoted pupil who clearly even loves Master Sol to someone willing to kill him.
This would also be particularly effective as a plot line now, given that The Acolyte has two remaining episodes. This isn't adequate time to introduce a fully formed arc revealing Osha to have committed to the dark side. Osha being possessed, however, would. Moreover, The Acolyte has received considerable negativity and backlash, with many arguing it isn't aware enough of Star Wars lore. Now, The Acolyte has an excellent opportunity to connect to an ancient Sith Lord's story, reinforcing its connection to Star Wars stories before it and perfectly explaining Osha's corruption.
