The InSneider has revealed that a The Batman spinoff series focused on Barry Keoghan's Joker is in the works, with the project set between The Batman - Part II and The Batman - Part III. It has not been made clear if the project is being developed for HBO or Max. Keoghan's Joker would return for a brief role in The Batman - Part II's story to set up the spinoff. The report brings along some interesting possibilities for the future of The Batman universe, including the Joker's role in the finale of Robert Pattinson's The Batman trilogy.
What The Batman’s Joker Spinoff Series Report Means
Barry Keoghan's Joker Gets The Penguin Treatment
Barry Keoghan's Joker series report comes at an interesting time. HBO's The Penguin series is ending soon, with only one more episode to air. The series has proved itself a major success, adding to the world of the franchise with complex characters, power dynamics, and more. The Penguin offered a look into how twisted Arkham really is, and since the Joker had already been there for some time before The Batman, there is much to explore with the character. After the success of The Batman's first spinoff series, it makes sense that another major villain is getting his TV show.

I’m Convinced That Robert Pattinson’s Batman Has Quit Gotham City For 1 Major Reason & The Batman's Spinoff Is Better For It
Robert Pattinson's Batman has not appeared in The Penguin despite the violence Gotham has endured, and The Batman spinoff series already revealed why.
Interestingly, the Joker series report teases his role in future The Batman movies. While it was expected that Keoghan's Joker would play a bigger role in The Batman - Part II, the report suggests that the character will have a similar role to the first film, with his next appearance setting up a Joker-focused project that should delve deep into the character. Like The Penguin is meant to bridge the gap between The Batman and The Batman - Part II, with Oz Cobb being important to the sequel, it seems like Keoghan's Joker could be The Batman - Part III's main villain.
Our Thoughts On The Batman’s Possible Joker Spinoff Series
The Batman Villain Is Perfect For A Solo TV Show
The Batman was always going to get more spinoff series, as Matt Reeves had previously tried to get a Gotham PD and an Arkham series off the ground. I was sad to see the latter not come true, but the new Joker spinoff series report has me excited. The project could serve as a window into The Batman universe's Arkham, taking cues from The Penguin's Sofia Falcone to show how the institution can twist characters and create new villains. The Joker is Batman's biggest villain, so if there is any character who makes sense for a spinoff, it is him.
