Jessica Biel's new Prime Video thriller series continues a rather exciting TV streak that started back in 2017. Biel first climbed into fame in 1996 when she played Mary Camden in the family drama 7th Heaven, but in the years that followed, she focused predominantly on a movie career. Some of her notable projects include The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Blade: Trinity (2004), The Illusionist (2006), The A-Team (2010), Hitchcock (2012), and more. Biel didn't dive back into a regular TV role until 2017's The Sinner, a project that performed exceptionally well and earned the actor Golden Globe and Emmy nominations.

The Sinner holds an impressive 92% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, and though Biel stepped off the screen after season 1 to focus wholly on her executive producer role, the series has continued to perform well. In the eight years since, Biel has taken up other TV roles, including Linetown (2019), and Candy (2022 to present). These series performed exceptionally well with critics, with each holding a Rotten Tomatoes critic score between 70% and 79%. Now, Biel's newest TV project has continued the trend.

Data from critics suggests that TV should continue to be a lucrative outlet as Biel's career progresses.

Our Take On Jessica Biel's Continued Success With TV Projects Like The Better Sister

Jessica Biel Has Found Her Golden Era

After leaving 7th Heaven in 2002, Biel developed a name for herself in the film industry. However, the actor's career has taken a far more positive turn since she returned to TV with 2017's The Sinner. The success of this series and those that have followed is even more significant, considering that both The Sinner and The Better Sister are produced by Biel's production company, Iron Ocean Films. Biel shared on The Bright Side podcast (via Deadline) that she considered stepping away from Hollywood if The Sinner didn't sell. Now, it's the first in a streak of success stories.

Prime Video's adaptation of The Better Sister is an enthralling mix of dark comedy and twisty murder mystery that is perfect for fans of Gone Girl.

Though Biel has been in the limelight for years, it's evident that her career is stronger than it ever was in past decades. At this rate, we can guess that The Better Sister won't be the only TV series to continue Biel's positive trend.
