Now, Prime Video has premiered the first official trailer for The Better Sister. The trailer introduces Chloe (Jessica Biel), a successful media executive, who appears to have the perfect life with her lawyer husband Adam (Corey Stoll) and their teenage son Ethan (Maxwell Acee Donovan). Meanwhile, her estranged sister Nicky (Elizabeth Banks) struggles with addiction and financial hardship. But when Adam is brutally murdered, the sisters are forced back into each other's lives, and as they reconnect, they delve into their complicated family history in a desperate search for answers. It Combines Murder Mystery With Compelling Performances

The Better Sister trailer presents Nicky as a prime suspect in Adam's murder, since she is his ex and Ethan's biological mother. Chloe seems to have "stolen her sister's life," leading to them becoming estranged. In turn, Nicky seems to have a motive for murdering Adam, which is more than likely a red herring, since the two sisters appear to be working together to solve his murder. Alternatively, the trailer also presents their teenage son, Ethan, as a suspect. Given the show's focus on family secrets, Adam's killer is likely related to him.

The Better Sister appears to be much more than a buzzy murder mystery, as it promises compelling performances from its two leads. Banks, best known for her roles in the Pitch Perfect and Hunger Games movies, is a three-time Emmy-nominated star, all for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series, twice for 30 Rock and once for Modern Family, and she seems to bring some of that comedic edge to The Better Sister​​​​​​. Biel, also an Emmy-nominated actress for her performance in the limited series, The Sinner, seems to bring more of that brooding presence to The Better Sister.

The killer could be Nicky, desperate and bitter, or Chloe, hiding some darker secret beneath her seemingly perfect life​​​​​. Ethan's troubled behavior makes him suspicious, while secrets from Adam's own past may point to someone else entirely. Whoever it is, The Better Sister will surely be filled with several twists and turns along the way.
