There were many couples on The Big Bang Theory when ing for all the failed attempted dates and arranged marriages, however, Howard and Bernadette were one of the strongest. They were the first to hit each major dating milestone and even became the couple that other of the gang went to for advice.
There were some pretty close calls during their relationship, but after having gone through space missions, tormenting mothers, and some secrets being revealed, Bernadette and Howard stood by each other and showed fans why they are a couple that everyone could look up to.
Bernadette Loved Howard Even If He Wasn't An Astronaut
In "The Holographic Excitation," Howard got down after the gang thought that he talked about space too much. This got him so upset that he didn't want to go to the costume party. In a small argument between him and Bernadette, Howard even quoted Bernadette saying that nobody liked him talking about space, which made him worry that he was just "plain old Howard Wolowitz" if he didn't get to talk about the fact that he went to space.
Bernadette replies with the fact that plain old Howard Wolowitz is the best guy she knows and that she loves him even without the part of his personality that he thinks made him cool. Having someone love you even without your coolest achievement was certainly a moment that fans realized Howard and Bernadette were couple goals.
When Bernadette Helped Howard Keep His Parking Spot
In "The Parking Spot Escalation," Howard and Sheldon fight over a parking spot that Sheldon has claimed as his despite not even being able to drive. While the fight was initially between the two of them, Bernadette ed and had Amy's car towed.
Bernadette could have easily stayed out of the fight and let Howard and Sheldon duke it out, but she chose to her husband and help him obtain the parking spot in Bernadette's own intelligent and evil yet hilarious manner.
Howard's Apology
In "The Stag Convergence," the gang revealed some secrets from Howard's past to Bernadette who was left a tad irked by the details. Bernadette got so angry that she didn't want to talk to Howard who turns up at her apartment to offer up an apology. In this apology, he stated that whoever he was did not exist anymore and that Bernadette actually made him a better man.
A measure of a great couple is when they bring out the best in each other and help each other grow which is something many couples can relate to Howard and Bernadette on. This certainly was something Howard and Bernadette managed to accomplish together.
Howard's Song To Bernadette In Quarantine
In "The Romance Resonance," after Bernadette has to go into Quarantine for their anniversary, Howard surprises her with a song involving the whole gang singing and him playing the piano. He lists off every great thing about their relationship.
Not every couple has to devote a piano song to each other when they are ill, but knowing what cheers people up when they are down is a key aspect of every relationship and is something that Howard went above and beyond to prepare.
Bernadette Laughing At Howard's Jokes
In "The Hesitation Ramification," Bernadette stated that "Sometimes you just have to fake a laugh" and that she does it with Howard to make him feel better. Although Howard doesn't believe her, Bernadette then demonstrated her very convincing fake laugh.
While he didn't take too kindly to this news, the fact that Bernadette wanted to make Howard feel funny is a great trait of hers though if she didn't reveal her secret, Howard would have certainly felt better about himself.
Bernadette Being ive Of Howard Going Back Into Space
In "The Table Polarization," Howard got a second chance to go back into space and was incredibly excited. Bernadette on the other hand was skeptical as Howard complained so much about his first trip. Eventually, Bernadette realized that Howard really wanted to go so sought advice from others close to him.
Despite being on opposite ends in the beginning, Bernadette was only looking out for Howard when she heard he was returning as she didn't want him to have a bad time. Later, she realized that he really wanted to go and ed him even when it meant leaving her.
Giving Friends Relationship Advice
Raj almost agrees to an arranged marriage in "The Transporter Malfunction" after believing that he would never find love. Raj went to Howard and Bernadette for advice who then told him that he certainly would find love one day and talked him out of it.
Many couples want to get to the point where they have been through everything with each other and have the experience to give hope and advice to their friends who are reflections of where they were before they found love.
Bernadette Traveling To Calm Howard Down
Although Howard couldn't stop boasting about going into space after it happened, fans will that he was initially very nervous and spent a lot of his training either being sick or complaining to Bernadette.
Being the ive wife/girlfriend that she was she flew down to spend time with Howard to calm him down despite the inconvenience it would cause to her own working life. The fact that Bernadette flew across the country just to calm Howard down when he was nervous is something that anyone can be proud to have done for their partner.
Buying Howard A Rolex
In the season 4 finale, with Bernadette being arguably smarter and having a better job than Howard she was able to buy him an expensive Rolex to show how much he means to her. Howard was slightly uneasy with Bernadette wanting her "baby to have pretty things" but he enjoyed the sentiment.
While needing to spend a lot of money to impress a loved one isn't an ideal element of a relationship, being in a position to be able to buy each other nice things is certainly a great aspiration.
The Milestones They Hit Together
Howard and Bernadette were the first couple out of the entire gang to hit certain milestones such as moving in together, getting married, and having children. After an interesting start, the two wound up going through many ups and downs throughout their relationship on the show.
Even after Glacinda The Troll, Howard's revealing stag party and many other relationship fumbles, they went the full way and wound up happy and with a great family.
