The Bondsman's episode 5, "Slypharis," reveals that Midge used to be an accomplished baker nine years before the present events. Everything was working out well for her as she was gaining immense recognition for her work as a baker. However, things took a grim turn when she learned that her newborn son had cancer. Determined to save him, Midge not only started selling her belongings but also looked for other means to afford his treatment. That is when she came across an online ment for Pot O'Gold and curiously clicked on it.

Before she could realize what she had done, she was redirected to a form that filled out all her personal details. The next day itself, a man named Ali Khan showed up at her door and convinced her to sign up for Pot O'Gold. He assured her that if she agreed to sell her soul and work for the devil, her son would be cured in exchange. Although Midge initially struggled to believe the man's claims, she eventually gave in and agreed to sign up as a Pot O'Gold employee to ensure her son's well-being.

When Midge asks Ali Khan about her role in Pot O'Gold, he reveals that her job is to convince more people to sign up for the company. Put simply, just as Khan coerces her to sell her soul, she must do the same with others by offering them something valuable in exchange. Khan also reveals that every time she signs someone up for the company, a part of the commission will go to him because Pot O'Gold follows a pyramid marketing scheme.

The Amazon Prime Video show also reveals that every character who agrees to sell their soul to the devil and work in Pot O'Gold is destined to be sent to hell after death. Midge realizes she might have sealed a hellish fate for herself by ing forces with the devil. However, she accepts her fate for her son's sake. As she reveals to Hub, she tried distancing herself from the company after her son was cured and attempted to avoid her responsibility of g up more souls. Unfortunately, her son's cancer returned when she did that, prompting her to return to her Pot O'Gold role.

The devil only gave him the chance to extend his stay in the human realm and delay his inevitable return to hell by offering him a demon-hunting role in Pot O'Gold.
