Why Midge Deserves Redemption More Than Hub

Unlike Hub, Midge Never Intentionally Harmed Anyone

Hub's backstory in The Bondsman reveals that even before he signed up to become a demon hunter for Pot O'Gold, he had sealed his hellish fate by murdering an innocent woman. Instead of reporting the crime and being guilty of it, he even hid the woman's body to get away with the murder. Owing to this, he was destined to go to hell after death. The devil only gave him the chance to extend his stay in the human realm and delay his inevitable return to hell by offering him a demon-hunting role in Pot O'Gold.

If it wasn't for her son's cancer, Midge may not have even considered associating herself with something like Pot O'Gold.

Midge, in contrast, never directly harmed anyone. She agreed to Pot O'Gold because she was desperate to find a way to save her son. If it wasn't for her son's cancer, Midge may not have even considered associating herself with something like Pot O'Gold. Even towards the ending moments of The Bondsman, Midge thinks more about the well-being of the entire human race when Hub sets Lilith free. Hub, in contrast, only serves himself by making a deal with the demon, which proves that Midge deserves redemption more than him.
