Content Warning: This List Contains Spoilers For Season 3 of The Boys

Especially as shown in this latest season, MCU’s crown in dominating the superhero genre. The series is utterly electrifying and – despite all the violence, gore, and touchy subjects – supremely entertaining.

In fact, The Boys’ tone matches well with the Suicide Squad, but perhaps they can capitalize on the popularity of The Boys and bring in some more of the cast.

Karl Urban - Captain Atom (Nathaniel Adam)

Karl Urban & Captain Atom

Karl Urban is no stranger to major franchises. He was part of the The Batman sequels, Urban’s casting would just muddy the already muddy waters. Therefore, he should add to his repertoire as Captain Atom.

Nathanial Adam, aka Captain Atom, is a Charlton Comics creation like Peacemaker who was eventually integrated into the DC universe. He is a vastly different character to Billy Butcher, with a more rigid sense of morality and justice. Captain Atom is basically a walking nuclear reactor capable of going toe to toe for a time with Superman, so he could make an interesting inclusion in the DCEU, especially played by Urban.

Antony Starr - Reverse-Flash (Eobard Thawne)

Antony Starr & Reverse-Flash

Though he was created as the pastiche of Superman gone bad, Antony Starr’s Homelander in The Boys has transcended to something all of its own. Shortly following the season three finale, many fans remarked on Twitter that he is one of the best villains ever presented in the superhero genre. He could do it again in the DCEU, except this time opposing Flash as his archenemy Eobard Thawne, aka Reverse-Flash.

He is a villainous speedster from the future who at first wants to supplantFlash but then turns his intentions to destroying his life. It’s revealed that Reverse-Flash was responsible for nearly every tragic thing that happened to Flash, including murdering his mother. The door for Starr as Reverse-Flash is gradually closing since The Flash is supposedly featuring the storyline when he goes back in time to save his mother. Only time will tell, though.

Jack Quaid - Booster Gold (Michael Carter)

Jack Quaid & Booster Gold

Jack Quaid is the core of the comedy within The Boys as Hughie. Whenever someone does or says something horrific or ridiculous, they always show his reactions, which are usually quite funny. He could bring that charm and comedy to the DCEU as none other than Booster Gold, the man from the future who stages his heroics only to eventually learn how to really be a hero.

Supposedly, a Booster Gold film was beginning development years ago, but that never went anywhere. Nevertheless, with Quaid at the helm, it could find its place still in the DCEU as an HBO Max series. Alternatively, he could come into play through Blue Beetle, given the characters’ friendship in the comics.

Erin Moriarty - Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark)

Erin Moriarty & Wonder Girl (Cassie Sandsmark)

Erin Moriarty’s Starlight is one of the only true heroes in The Boys, and she could certainly do it again in the DCEU. There are many young heroes for who she’d be a good fit. At the top of that list should be Cassandra Sandsmark, aka Wonder Girl, Wonder Woman’s trusty sidekick and half-sister – later retconned to be niece.

She’s been part of the Teen Titans and Young Justice like her predecessor Donna Troy, but she sets herself apart with her rage sometimes taking control of her. With Moriarty in the role, she could make a good addition to the DCEU, allowing Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman to take on a new role as mentor, possibly in Wonder Woman 3.

Laz Alonso - Icon (Augustus Freeman)

Laz Alonso & Icon

The other hero in The Boys is definitely Mother’s Milk, played by Laz Alonso, and he doesn’t even have powers. He had gotten out of the game at the start of season three but quickly learned he can’t get away from this life, especially not while Soldier Boy is out there. It would be exciting to see what Alonso could do in the DCEU, especially if he’s given a role with powers like Icon.

Icon is a creation of Milestone Comics, existing in what’s known as the Dakotaverse, but he and his protégé, Rocket, were acquired by DC. He deserves some special treatment in live-action which would essentially introduce the lesser-known hero to mainstream audiences.  Like Superman, he is an alien on Earth, though with very different abilities like metamorphosis and energy blasts.

Tomer Capone - Heat Wave (Mike Rory)

Tomer Capone & Heat Wave

Tomer Capone, who plays Frenchie in The Boys, has stated that the show has largely ruined the superhero genre for him, forcing him to contend with who the characters really are beyond the spandex suits and capes. That’s strangely a credit to the show since its intention is to satirize the genre and show what it would really be like. Nevertheless, Capone could still find a place in the DCEU in the future.

He’d make a great choice for a Flash villain, of which there are many, like Mirror Master, Weather Wizard, or Captain Cold. However, he might be a good fit for Heat Wave, the fire-wielding burglar. In the role, he could the other villains as the Rogues to go up against the Flash, possibly in a sequel if that ever happens.

Dominique McElligott - Veronica Cale

Dominique McElligott & Veronica Cale

At the end of the latest season, Dominique McElligott’s Queen Maeve might finally be able to get her own happy ending – though knowing The Boys, it doesn’t seem likely to last. She seemingly sacrificed herself to stop Solider Boy, but in the end, she was only depowered and faked her death. As a pastiche of Wonder Woman, it would be interesting to see McElligott in a related role. The best fit might as one of her antagonists, Veronica Cale.

She’s like the Lex Luthor to Wonder Woman’s Superman, a business leader jealous of Wonder Woman’s power and popularity. Cale has often plotted to take down the hero, hiring and working with other villains like Cheetah and Circe to do so. As such, she could definitely serve as the main antagonist in Wonder Woman 3 if the film finally takes place in the present.

Jessie T. Usher - Green Lantern (Simon Baz)

Jessie T. Usher & Green Lantern (Simon Baz)

A-Train continues to be a perplexing character in The Boys. From the start, he is clearly a bad guy, but now it seems like he’s trying to redeem himself – though, of course, he’s classically unsuccessful. Though his character is greatly unlikable, that’s actually a testament to his performer Jessie T. Usher. Distancing himself from his relation to the Flash, he could play a character in the Green Lantern Corps, and he could make for a great choice as Simon Baz.

Simon is just one of the many Green Lanterns from Earth, and though he goes on to team up with other heroes, at his origins, he was actually hunted down by them; they thought he had taken Hal Jordan hostage. The DCEU would likely start with Hal Jordan or John Stewart to bring the Green Lanterns into the fray, but eventually, that could mean Baz will come.

Chace Crawford - Green Arrow (Oliver Queen)

Chace Crawford & Green Arrow

Chace Crawford’s Deep is the surprising dark horse of The Boys. He’s usually a comedic figure showcasing the ineptitude and ego of superheroes, but he has done some truly horrible things. In the role, Crawford demonstrated the character’s deep vulnerability and cowardice in combat, but also his ambition. He could do it again as he’d be a good choice to bring budding fan favorite Kite-Man to live-action, but his best bet could really be as Green Arrow.

The hero is, of course, best recognized right now from Stephen Amell’s time in the he’s a missing link in the DCEU’s Justice League team, especially now that Batman’s involvement is currently ambiguous. It’s essential to have characters like them in the team, mere men among gods. Green Arrow's characterization wouldn’t be to replace Batman but add a fresh perspective, and Crawford could definitely emulate his characteristic quippy nature and athleticism.

Nathan Mitchell - Mister Terrific (Michael Holt)

Nathan Mitchell & Mister Terrific

Fans finally got to see beneath Black Noir’s mask in season three as Nathan Mitchell’s character got some dedicated attention and focus. Unfortunately, it did end with him being killed by Homelander. However, it was recently announced that Mitchell will still be in season four, playing a different version of Black Noir. Mitchell could also play another rather stoic character, and one particularly underrated by fans, Mister Terrific.

Michael Holt, aka Mister Terrific, is arguably one of the smartest characters in the DC Universe. He created the T-Spheres, which are unexpectedly able to accomplish many goals. Black Adam – and if they want to introduce more, he should be considered, and Mitchell along with him.
