Karl Urban is covered in blood once again in a set photo for The Boys season 5, since it will feature the final battle between Butcher and Homelander.

The Boys season 5 recently began filming, and Urban posted a photo of himself in costume as Billy Butcher on Instagram. In the photo, Urban holds up five fingers to represent season 5 and showcases his blood-spattered face. Check out Urban's post below:

Butcher Will Be Scarier Than Ever In The Boys Season 5

Just before the release of The Boys season 4, it was revealed that season 5 would be the last season of the Prime Video series. While Homelander has always been the main villain in The Boys, Butcher is definitely more of an anti-hero, rather than a traditional good guy. Therefore, many of Butcher's actions in The Boys season 5 will be very unpredictable. At the end of The Boys season 4, Butcher's alter-ego brutally murdered Victoria Neuman, which shifted power dynamics heading into the final season.

Victoria actually had a plan to flip on Homelander in The Boys, but her death ensured that Homelander would have more power than ever before heading into the final episodes of the series. Homelander issued martial law, and is targeting all of his enemies. Since The Boys have been Homelander's primary opposition throughout the series, he will definitely be going after characters like Hughie, Annie, and Butcher.

Urban Perfectly Portrays Butcher In The Boys

The stakes have always been high throughout The Boys, but the season 4 finale set up what could be the most intense season yet. While it is unclear how Butcher's story will end in The Boys, he has continued to become more and more violent as the show has gone on. Many people who once relied on Butcher no longer fully trust him, so it seems unlikely that he will survive the series. Regardless, it is great to see that Urban is excited about filming the final season of The Boys.
