One of the most successful TV shows in the history of Nickelodeon has been All That, a sketch comedy series starring kids and teens that aired from 1994 to 2005 (with a two-year hiatus in between). All That has been responsible for jumpstarting the careers of several talented individuals in the comedy genre and in the entertainment business as a whole. Most notably, Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Amanda Bynes, Gabriel Iglesias, and Nick Cannon.
Created by Michael Tollin and Brian Robbins, Nickelodeon’s All That was also responsible for three successful spin-offs that dominated the TV screens between the late 1990s and the early 2000s: Kenan & Kel, The Amanda Show, and The Nick Cannon Show. But was has the cast of All That been up to since then?
KENAN THOMPSON
At this point, it is safe to say that Kenan Thompson has entered the hall of fame of sketch comedy. During his time as a regular cast member on All That, Thompson went off to headline his own spin-off alongside costar Kel Mitchell, the Kenan & Kel show. Then, in 2003, the comedian ed Saturday Night Live, where he has been ever since.
In 2017, Kenan Thompson became the longest-serving cast member in the history of Saturday Night Live, which is itself one of the longest-running show in the history of television in the U.S. Then, in 2018, NBC decided to deepen its relationship with the comedian even further, greenlighting the solo project The Kenan Show for a 2020 premiere.
KEL MITCHELL
Kel Mitchell is often ed as one of the funniest people to ever be on Nickelodeon, which is credited due to his work on both All That and Kenan & Kel. Ever since All That ended, Mitchell made brief appearances in a wide variety of shows, such as Good Luck Charlie, Sam & Cat, and Liv And Maddie. Most recently, the comedian was featured in the Nickelodeon comedy Game Shakers, which aired for three seasons.
Due to his mainstream appeal, Kel Mitchell has also been seen on music videos of very successful artists in the music industry, such as in Kanye West’s video for “All Falls Down” and Khalid’s “Young Dumb & Broke” music video.
AMANDA BYNES
It is safe to say that Amanda Bynes has had one of the most successful Hollywood careers out of every other cast member from All That. After headlining her own The Amanda Show project on Nickelodeon and playing Holly Tyler in the What I Like About You sitcom on The WB, the actress went on to star in films such as 2003’s What a Girl Wants, 2006’s She’s The Man, 2007’s Hairspray, and 2010’s Easy A.
However, it was in 2010 that Amanda Bynes’ career had to be put on hold due to issues with mental health and substance abuse. In 2017, Bynes announced that she was attending fashion school and wanted to start her own clothing line. Moreover, the actress mentioned that she wanted to go back to acting on TV and in film. Then, in 2018, Paper Magazine did a cover story on Amanda Bynes that became a viral sensation.
LORI BETH DENBERG
Comedian Lori Beth Denberg went on to have a huge career in the late 1990s and early 2000s, as she landed TV shows such as Figure It Out, The Steve Harvey Show, and Malcolm in the Middle immediately after leaving All That. On the big screen, Denberg was also seen in the Good Burger movie and in 2004’s Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.
As of more recently, Lori Beth Denberg has been making more appearances as herself on series such as Workaholics, Hollywood Darlings, and Wild ‘N Out (which is hosted by her All That costar Nick Cannon).
JOSH SERVER
The only All That cast member that stayed throughout all of the show’s six original seasons was Josh Server. What’s more, Server was very loyal to the franchise even as it expanded, being featured in the Good Burger movie and making cameos on the Kenan & Kel and The Amanda Show spin-offs.
As it stands, Josh Server has been a faithful company man for Nickelodeon, sharing his talents on TV shows such as Oh Yeah! Cartoons, 100 Deeds for Eddie McDowd, Drake & Josh, and Sam & Cat. In 2018, the actor was featured on the All That reunion episode of MTV’s Wild ‘N Out. Server also reunited with fellow costar Kel Mitchell during an episode of Game Shakers.
NICK CANNON
Nick Cannon has had a very versatile career since the end of All That. As a rapper, he broke out with the hit single “Gigolo” and went on to release two studio albums, 2003’s “Nick Cannon” and 2014’s “White People Party Music.” As a host, Cannon had a run between 2009 and 2016 on America’s Got Talent and has been on Wild ‘N Out since 2005 (despite the hiatus from 2007 to 2013).
As an actor, Nick Cannon is best known for 2002’s Drumline, 2006’s Bobby, and his recurring roles on the TV series Brooklyn Nine-Nine. One would also be remiss not to mention Cannon’s six-year marriage to pop star Mariah Carey, with whom he has two children.
GABRIEL IGLESIAS
Despite the fact that Gabriel Iglesias was only in one season of All That, this is still the show that gave the comedian his start.
Ever since being on the series, Iglesias has had a very successful career on TV and in films. Most notably, he was cast in Planes.
As of 2019, Gabriel Iglesias is starring and executive producing his very own Netflix original series, Mr. Iglesias.
KATRINA JOHNSON
There is no doubt that Katrina Johnson played a very significant role in the history of All That, so much so that the comedian was invited back for the 100th episode of the series, and yet again for the 10th anniversary special that aired in 2005.
After All That, Johnson was seen again in the Shane On You TV movie. However, the comedian seemed to be more focused on a career in radio, even hosting her very own radio show while residing in Las Vegas.
Fun fact: according to Katrina Johnson, Amanda Bynes got cast on All That while doing stand-up alongside Johnson at The Laugh Factory.
DANNY TAMBERELLI
Before he even got cast on All That, Danny Tamberelli had already experienced a pretty successful career as a child actor in Hollywood. His credits already included 1992’s The Magic School Bus.
After Danny Tamberelli’s run on All That, which took place between 1997 and 2000, the actor returned to voice acting for a role on Fillmore! and a character in the video game Grand Theft Auto V. Furthermore, the actor was seen in the 2019 film Ham on Rye.
ALISA REYES
It is hard to not think of Alisa Reyes when ing some of our favorite All That comedians, as she was part of that cast for three seasons.
After her time on All That, Reyes was featured on the TV shows such as ER. Most notably, the comedian did voice acting for the Disney Channel animated series The Proud Family between 2001 and 2005.
As of late, Alisa Reyes also showed her skills as a DJ for a SiriusXM satellite radio show of her own.
