Even though Netflix's The Circle finished season 4 of the competition series just a few weeks ago, the show has already been confirmed for a fifth season on the streaming service. That means that fans have some time to plan their own strategies and prepare for the next round of influencers.
Since much of the show is based on personality and interpersonal connection, examining how the zodiac signs respond to situations gives a good insight as to what style of gameplay each sign would favor. Each one has its own strength and drawbacks when applied to the game.
Aries
Fiery, ionate, and wild, Aries may not have a tangible plan when it comes to their gameplay. Instead, they'd embrace The Circle for providing a platform to meet and connect with new people. Aries are naturally competitive, but also exceedingly optimistic. Their outgoing nature and positive outlook on life draws others to them like a moth to the flame.
Aries have no shortage of players who are interested in forming partnerships with them. However, they have to be careful of letting their competitive nature and unbridled enthusiasm overwhelm others. The risk of intimidating the other players poses one of the greatest threats to the Aries style of gameplay.
Taurus
Competing in a show like The Circle means crafting a delicate balance of defensive and offensive tactics and treaties. For Taurus, a sign known for its dependability and resilience, the sanctity of the alliance would define their gameplay. Loyal and steadfast, Taurus will stay with the alliances they formed on day one.
Every block against their teammates is a betrayal, and Taurus has the long game to avenge their friends. It's a very aggressive style of gameplay, often seen in the earlier seasons. Taurus-style gameplay needs to have an emphasis on their loyalty to retain their likability factor in The Circle.
Gemini
If there's a player who's ever going to recreate the Charlie Kelly detective board meme in their apartment on The Circle, it will be a Gemini. These players have a hyper-focused and organized plan with a million threads and connections. They've got their story perfectly in line, even if they're a catfish.
They still manage to everything about everyone they've spoken to and are ready to maneuver blocks and call out other profiles' slip-ups as soon as they happen. Of course, this means other contestants are on the hunt to prove the Gemini is a catfish, even if they aren't.
Cancer
For a game focused on the inner workings of popularity, social media, and virtual interaction, The Circle is full of surprisingly deep moments. These moments are the kind of interactions Cancer sign players facilitate, sparking something in others with their deep connection and protectiveness of their family.
Cancers face one of the biggest struggles in their gameplay, as the nature of The Circle depends so much on tone. Cancers can be ive-aggressive. With the limited visuals of conversation and the struggle to maintain consistency and approachability in tone, a successful campaign needs to see the player balance their emotions and tonality.
Leo
Leos thrive in a "hate the game, not the player" situation. It's no surprise to think a Leo would go into The Circle and take advantage of getting to be someone completely different and new. These vivacious and wild personalities would focus their gameplay on being big, bold, and memorable.
Their intense focus and dedication to the game make alliances incredibly important to Leos, but not just for defensive gameplay. Instead, they'll use their charm and vivacious energy to get others to loosen up, making for some of the biggest twists and funniest moments before artfully weaponizing the intel they gain to eliminate other strong players.
Virgo
The planners of the zodiac, Virgos would go into The Circle with a carefully thought-out, organized, appealing profile and their catfishing would work for a while. But then the game would throw in one of its twists, and send everything off in a way the player could have never seen coming.
Luckily, Virgos are very kind, empathetic, and open, and are excellent problem solvers. So when the big twist derails their original plans, the relationships they've developed and alliances they forged were because of their helpful nature, and not an aspect of the catfishing plan.
Libra
Balance in life is something most Libras strive for, and their strategy for The Circle would be no different. This style of gameplay comes from the sign's perception and self-awareness, and it wouldn't be a stretch to see a Libra player fudging the truth about their lives to make them more relatable or less diverse in the game.
Libra players have used this risky style of gameplay to make their profiles more accessible and relatable to a larger group of people by altering aspects of their personalities. This kind of strategic gameplay would keep a Libra player in the game for quite a while.
Scorpio
A common tactic seen on the show is flirting in The Circle and since Scorpios are one of the most romantically minded signs, their gameplay would excel when combined with a few cheeky messages to build alliances. This style of play has a significant drawback, as the sign's flirtatiousness and jealousy can be misinterpreted as manipulation by other players.
But if a Scorpio is able to overcome this kind of distrust, they stand a good shot at going far in the game as they’re fiercely protective and tend to have long-term plans to achieve their goals.
Sagittarius
The free-spirited and wild Sagittarius would be a wild card in a game like The Circle. They avoid taking the game overly seriously but get a wild kick out of causing just enough drama to still stir the pot and keep the other players on their toes.
Their wild antics and unbridled enthusiasm for fun make it hard to sustain a different persona as they'd struggle to keep their stories believable and not get confused as to whom they told what. Even if their methods don't wind up getting them to take home the grand prize, they'll certainly become a fan favorite.
Capricorn
Presenting themselves as someone different requires a delicate balance of gameplay, but Capricorn players would be up to the challenge. This sign deals with the stigma of appearing cold, cutthroat, and vicious because of their external subdued nature. In reality, they're hyper-focused and vigilant when it comes to relationships but refuse to tolerate any tomfoolery.
This means they're going to present their new persona as seriously and ionately as their private persona, testing their own limits and challenging their own boundaries. They'd form an alliance and stick with them, no matter what. This could take them all the way, or be the cause of an early elimination.
Aquarius
A large aspect of the Aquarius star sign is a desire to help others and there's no denying that has to factor into the gameplay style they'd favor. They'd prefer complete honesty and transparency but know that honesty isn’t always the best policy.
Aquarius competitors would focus on being as honest as possible, avoiding blindsides, shocks, and betrayals, but would also be willing to tell little white lies to protect those in their alliances. When it comes time for these players to be forced to eliminate someone, it's not about the toughest competitors, but about the integrity and trustworthiness of the other contestants.
Pisces
When it comes to Pisces, they're the most balanced and well-rounded of the zodiac. In the circle, this kind of gameplay means honesty and interpersonal skills are key. Instead of creating a singular strong alliance and risking alienating others, a Pisces player would forge connections and relationships with everyone in the game.
Honesty and openness would be integral to gameplay, but judging by former Pisces contestant, Chloe Veitch, this kind of gameplay could take a competitor far. However, it requires a deep level of faith and trust in others, which can always backfire in a game like The Circle.
