A brand new clip from Roseanne's death as the center of its storytelling in an unexpected way, but while Darlene deals with revisiting the tragedy, she also has to keep an eye on Mark, who finds himself embroiled in illegal hacking.
In a ScreenRant exclusive clip for The Conners season 7, episode 14, "Danny Boy, the Interview, the New Hire, and the Hanging Chad," Darlene attempts to ask Jean for legal advice about her son's current illegal activity. However, Dan and Roseanne's daughter isn't as smooth as she thinks she is, as the lawyer eventually realizes that she is being asked about a matter that is entirely unrelated to the class-action lawsuit or the Conner matriarch's death. Watch the video below:
How Mark's Hacking Plot Can Connect To The Conners' Class-Action Lawsuit
Mark Can Land In Jail For His Hacking Activities
As established in The Conners season 7 premiere, Mark has been earning a lot of money due to under-the-table hacking. Jackie was the first one to actually find out about it and tried to warn him about the matter, but he was adamant about it. Jackie eventually found out, resulting in an intense fight between the mother and son. Understandably, Jackie is worried about him, considering the dangers of his activities. So far, Mark's hacking methods and the class-action lawsuit about Roseanne's death have been separate, but the latest scene may be the start of them converging.

The Conners Effectively Confirms Its Official Roseanne Replacement, And It Makes A Lot Of Sense
Roseanne will always be an important part of its story, but The Conners has no choice but to replace him, and frankly, ABC's choice makes sense.
Given the money, it's difficult to imagine that Mark will willingly give up his hacking ways. However, it's also unlikely that The Conners will end without any kind of fallout from it. Assuming that Mark gets caught, it will require money just to get him out of legal trouble. The funds that will be needed for that may come from whatever settlement the family will receive from the class-action lawsuit. This way, The Conners can maintain its identity as a show about middle-class American families.
Our Take On The Lingering Storylines In The Conners
Roseanne's Death Gives The Conners Season 7 A Clear Focus
Obviously, the main focus of The Conners season 7 is Roseanne's death, which is an interesting choice, considering how the clan has moved on from it. It's actually a great way to bring the Roseanne franchise full circle. Regardless of what happened behind the scenes, Roseanne remains a beloved member of the Conner family. For the longest time, she was the center of the comedy universe, so it makes sense that the clan revisits her tragedy before it ends.

Wow, I Didn't Expect The Conners Season 7 To Bring Back Roseanne To The Center Of Its Storytelling This Way
The Conners season 7 effectively brings back Roseanne at the center of its storytelling, and it's curious how this shapes the rest of its run.
Beyond that, however, it gives the show a clear central plot, with a few B-narratives also simultaneously playing out. That includes Mark's hacking business and Darlene's growing frustration with her marriage. Meanwhile, Jackie struggles to be fulfilled on the heels of her retirement. All of these stories will likely all get resolved, resulting in a satisfying send-off in The Conners finale.
New episodes of The Conners air Wednesdays at 8 pm ET on ABC and are available to stream the next day on Hulu.
