Since Arrowverse. Whether they are fellow speedsters like Barry Allen or important ing characters, the show hasn’t been shy in using anywhere from A-list to D-list characters. Currently, in its sixth season, the characters have pretty much faced most of the characters in the speedster mythology whether it be from Barry, Jay, or Wally’s rogues’ gallery.
With a seventh season already renewed for next year, The Flash still has a couple of characters left that they haven’t played around with. Some have been hinted at while others have barely gotten so much as name-dropped in the last six years. These are 10 characters that The Flash should introduce from speedster mythology.
Paul Gambi
Before Black Lightning even premiered on The CW, a nod to Peter Gambi was made in the series premiere of the Scarlet Speedster drama. When Barry is exploring his powers for the first time, he runs by a “Gambi Cleaners” truck. While Peter does the costume work for the Pierce family, he actually has a brother named Paul who went the other route.
In the comics, Paul is a tailor for the villains of Central City. Now that Black Lightning exists in the same world as the other heroes, thanks to Crisis on Infinite Earths, could a Gambi brother plot finally happen? To make it more fun, it would be amusing if Peter Ramar played Paul, making the Gambi brothers twins.
Valerie Perez
While Barry has Iris, Wally has Linda, there is another speedster with his own love interest, Valerie Perez. Being one of the few diverse characters in Flash’s mythology, introducing Valerie to set up the arrival of her speedster would be a fun way. In addition to that, it would also serve as the addition of another iconic female character from the mythos.
Captain Boomerang II (Owen Mercer)
When it comes to Captain Boomerang, Barry didn’t get to face George Harkness that many times before his death in Arrow’s season 5 finale. Whether or not the writers choose to undo his death through the Crisis effects remains to be seen. But there is another Captain Boomerang that they could use: Owen Mercer.
Since Barry has faced almost all of the Rogues from the comics, it would be a shame to not see him get to battle Boomerang on his own. Whether or not they intend to bring a version of the Rogues together before the series is over remains to be seen. But hopefully, before then, Owen will have made his way to Central City for at least an episode or two.
Cobalt Blue/Malcolm Thawne
While Eobard might be the most famous in the Thawne family tree, there are a number of other Thawnes that have caused problems for The Flash. One of them is Cobalt Blue better known as Malcolm Thawne. To make a complicated backstory short, Cobalt/Malcolm is actually Barry’s twin brother who was separated at birth. Nora gave birth to two boys that day and one of them was taken by a drunken doctor who had failed in saving Charlene Thawne’s baby after it got strangled on its own umbilical cord.
Even though the comic canon for Malcolm is a bit complicated, it could easily be reimagined for the series. One of the long time theories about Cobalt Blue is that Eddie Thawne was perhaps going to turn out to be Malcolm. But once he was killed off, it stopped that possibility. However, with Crisis now having already resurrected various people, could this be a way to introduce Cobalt/Malcolm in one way or another?
Red Death
After a brief namedrop last season, Red Death has been a constant request by fans to see on the show. The villainous speedster in the comics is actually an evil version of Bruce Wayne from Earth-52. While it would be highly unlikely that The Flash could use Bruce Wayne when Batwoman barely can't, it would still be possible to adapt Red Death.
In order to make that villain's presence have an impact on the characters, it would have to be a doppelganger of someone Arrowverse viewers already know. A popular suggestion has been Oliver from another universe, especially after Earth-1's Oliver having died in the Crisis.
Tornado Twins
Despite Nora West-Allen having appeared last season, Iris and Barry's kids in the comics are a bit different. In the comics, they had not one, but two kids named Dawn and Don who was better known as the Tornado Twins. While their comic history has been a bit convoluted, the TV show may have set up the Twins after Crisis. During Wally's latest guest-spot, he mentioned how he had been able to see speedsters from any timeline, including Nora, suggesting she is alive in the future. Even if she doesn't go by Dawn, a set up for her brother's arrival could easily happen now.
Johnny Quick
The name Johnny Quick has two meanings in the DC canon. While initially introduced as Jesse Quick's father Johnny Chambers in the Golden Age, the name is more associated with the evil speedster from Earth-3.
With the Multiverse now rebooted, the old Earth-3 might now be more in line with the comic version as the home of the Crime Syndicate of America. Since there have been so many speedster foes already, Johnny is one of the remaining ones that haven't been used. When the times comes that they explore the new Multiverse, Johnny Quick's arrival will hopefully not be far away.
Max Mercury
One of the old-school speedsters that haven't been around in a while is Max Mercury. His last big arc was in The Flash: Rebirth back in 2010. Being one of the odder speedsters of them all, Max still should get his due in live-action even if it's just for one episode or two. Additionally, it would be interesting to see how they design his particular costume.
Inertia
With the Thawne family, there is no telling how many of them exist. But another character that causes problems every once in a while is Inertia Thawne who happens to be a clone of the next character that the show needs to introduce. The more Thawnes there are, the better chances are that maybe, one day, Team Flash will have to take on an entire clan of Thawnes.
Bart Allen/Impulse
But the most important character that The Flash needs to introduce is none other than Bart Allen a.k.a. Impulse. Being one of the most famous speedsters, Bart is the one that remains unused despite being six seasons into the show. Being Barry's grandson who comes from the future, Bart would complete the Flash Family presence in so many ways if introduced.
With Jay, Barry, Wally, Jesse (if she's still alive), that image will hopefully one day be completed with Bart. If Bart does get brought in, that paves the way easier to bring in Inertia too whilst giving Impulse his own enemy.
