The majority of viewers struggled with the way that Gerry handled The Golden Bachelor, but the issues that came up after the season pushed viewers away from ing him.

While Joan was a part of The Golden Bachelor, she wound up having to leave the series early in order to take care of urgent matters at home. Joan’s removal from the series early on was a blessing in disguise and made her an even more exciting choice to come back as the first Golden Bachelorette. With Bachelor Nation happy to her, Joan’s time as the lead has been exciting thus far, and her optimism surrounding her journey has been a refreshing change.

While Joan’s first few episodes as The Golden Bachelorette have been exciting, there have only been a few thus far. Though the episodes that have aired will likely be a great indicator of what’s to come, Bachelor Nation knows that after the first few weeks, the season only gets more difficult for the lead. Joan has a great head on her shoulders and knows what she’s looking for, but her time as the lead will become more tricky as time goes by, and with so many weeks to come, there’s room for all sorts of issues or errors.

As Joan moves through her time as The Golden Bachelorette, many believe she’ll be able to handle it with grace and ease, while others are wondering if she’ll become the villain of her own story. Though some of Gerry’s villainous nature came from the fact that he’d lied to Bachelor Nation about his past, Joan doesn’t appear to have any skeletons in her closet. With her upfront honesty, it doesn’t seem likely that Joan’s persona will take a turn, but it’s always possible on The Golden Bachelorette.
