Players probably know the developer of The Gunk, Image & Form,  from its work on the SteamWorld franchise. These games were delightfully fun and a huge hit with critics and fans alike. The company has worked in a vast array of genres at this point from RPGs to deck-building puzzle games. This will be their first foray into what looks like a a a platforming action adventure game. Players are finally going to see what Image & From can do outside of the world of SteamWorld.

During the course of the trailer for The Gunk the main character is exploring a strange foreign world leaping and moving around the environment with platformer-esque controls. They also encounter strange a strange goo like substance that must be the titular gunk. The character then uses a strange device on their glove to vacuum up the substance and continue exploring.

The Gunk wasn't alone in a reveal event full of surprises. Xbox fans were given their very first look at Halo: Infinite that even came with gameplay. The new Forza game looks promising as well as it seems to be taking advantage of the Xbox Series X's incredible new specs. The most surprising of the game reveals during the Xbox Games Showcase was probably a new entry in the Fable series, which hasn't had a new mainline entry since Fable 3 in 2010.

Other than this brief look, not a lot is known about The Gunk. The game was previously unannounced before this moment, so there aren't any concrete details yet.. We also do not have a release date at this time for the The Gunk either. Despite this, the little bit of the game that players were shown look very promising and it will be exciting what Image & Form have planned. Players will need to wait to see if Microsoft releases any other details at a later date.
