June proposes to Mayday the idea of carrying out their Jezebel's plan at Commander Wharton's wedding, giving them the opportunity to hit Gilead with one final blow.

Is Aunt Lydia Going To Find June & Moira?

She Is Clearly Suspicious

Aunt Lydia goes through an emotional rollercoaster in The Handmaid's Tale season 6, episode 7, with her finding the dead women at Jezebel's, only to later discover that Janine is still alive. Although Aunt Lydia is still going through her redemption arc, she is undoubtedly still on Gilead's side. Thus, she is against June, Moira, and Mayday. Phoebe holds strong, while Lydia still seems to have a sneaking suspicion that something is going on.

Before the scene ends, Aunt Lydia looks through the window of the door that Phoebe emerged through, signaling that she doesn't fully trust Phoebe. However, the chances of Lydia finding June and Moira are slim. Lydia tells Phoebe that she has to go to Washington D.C., leaving the preparation of the Handmaids ahead of the wedding in Phoebe's hand. This means that Lydia will be mostly removed from Mayday's plan. With Lydia no longer around to snoop, it will make the Handmaids' portion of the attack much easier, with Lydia being none the wiser.

What June's Bible Quote At The End Of The Handmaid's Tale Season 6, Episode 7 Means

It Is Several Verses From Psalm 23

After their conversation with Aunt Phoebe, June and Moira sit together at the end of the episode. June tells Moira that they are here fighting for Janine and the other women. Moira asks June to say something inspiring, leading June to quote several Bible verses. She first recites Psalm 23:1 before jumping to verse 4, then skipping to the end of verse 5 and all of verse 6. She then concludes with her own addition, all of which can be read here:

The Lord is our shepherd; we shall not want. But though we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil, for you are with us. You comfort us in the presence of our enemies. Our cups runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives, and we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. And please, dear God, give us the strength to murder those godd*mn motherf***ers.

June's relationship with Christianity has been an interesting one throughout The Handmaid's Tale. Although she is resentful of how religion is the underlying principle of Gilead, she has also used it to inspire herself and others. These Bible verses seem to be a prayer from June for God to be on their side during their attack on Serena Joy's wedding. Quoting the Bible implies that June knows that they are the righteous ones in this battle, but that this battle is uphill.

Although there are still a lot of questions surrounding Aunt Phoebe, she is clearly a Mayday plant. It isn't known if Mayday turned an Aunt, or if they managed to get one of their own promoted to the role of an Aunt. Either way, a spy within Gilead like Aunt Phoebe is an invaluable tool, with her being key in orchestrating and carrying out the future attack on Serena Joy's wedding.

June's Plan For Serena Joy's Wedding Explained

They Have Successfully Pivoted After The Jezebel's Failure

Although it may not be at Jezebel's, June has figured out a new way to kill some of Gilead's most powerful commanders. In a conversation with Commander Lawrence, Lawrence encourages June to keep fighting, telling her about Janine's survival and Serena Joy's wedding. This brings June to a realization: they can attack Serena Joy's wedding. June then realizes that, since the Handmaids will be at Serena Joy's wedding, they can use the Handmaids to carry out an attack on the Commanders.

June then realizes that, since the Handmaids will be at Serena Joy's wedding, they can use the Handmaids to carry out an attack on the Commanders.

Lawrence explains that, since Gilead just defeated Mayday's Jezebel's plan, their confidence will be high and their defenses will be down. June also states that the veiled, unnoticed Handmaids are the perfect weapon against Gilead. She plans on smuggling weapons in for the Handmaids, with June and Moira wrapping knives in pieces of cloth. Since the bombs are still in place from the previous attack, they can still be used, allowing the American military to invade Gilead. Most of the Guards will have been pulled from the border to the wedding, leaving Boston unprotected.

Can Janine Be Saved In The Handmaid's Tale?

Now That Commander Bell Has Her

One of June's side quests in The Handmaid's Tale's final few episodes is to save Janine. Janine survived the slaughter of the women at Jezebel's due to her being a favorite of regular patron Commander Bell. Janine is now Commander Bell's Handmaid. Unfortunately, when Aunt Lydia decides to check in on her, she finds that Janine has been badly beaten. Commander Bell is treating her harshly due to Janine's rebellious spirit, with him not even letting Janine leave the house for Serena Joy's wedding.

Since Janine won't be at the wedding, it will be incredibly difficult to save her. As soon as the attack happens, Gilead will undoubtedly be locked down. Mayday proper won't see Janine as valuable enough to risk rescuing, and it will be hard for June to make her way to Janine after the attack. Unless something changes, it will take a miracle for Janine to be saved by the end of The Handmaid's Tale season 6.
