To celebrate, Marvel is releasing the Amadeus Cho 20th Anniversary Special one-shot.

As first announced by AIPT, Amadeus Cho 20th Anniversary Special will reunite Pak and Miyazawa, who will be ed by artists Creees Lee and Jethro Morales to explore key moments from the character's history.

Cho, in his various incarnations, has proven to be a reliable fan-favorite over the years, and long-time Marvel readers will be thrilled with the news that he is receiving his own anniversary issue – which will serve as a retrospective look at his past, as well as a hint at his future.

According to Marvel, Amadeus Cho will emerge in a new form within the pages of the final story and set the stage for the next chapter of Amadeus Cho. Back in 2015, Cho took over the mantle of the Hulk from Bruce Banner during Marvel's All-New, All-Different publishing initiative. In contrast to the original Jade Giant, whose personality and demeanor have fluctuated over the years, Cho retained his immense intelligence. When Banner regained his Gamma powers, Cho reverted to a form weaker than the Hulk but one that still packed a punch while retaining his vast intellect.

Likewise, he could revert back to his human form and opted for a new superhero moniker, Brawn. It goes without saying that there are more than enough Hulk characters running around in the Marvel Universe these days. It was only a few months ago that Hell Hulk will be tormenting Hellverine.Given the plethora of Gamma enhanced characters, it definitely seems like the right time for Amadeus Cho to ditch the Gamma powers himself and return to a "back to basics" approach that made him such a fan-favorite.

Forecasting The Character's Multimedia Future

Rumors circulated for quite a while that Amadeus Cho would make the jump from comics to live-action in Captain America: Brave New World. Now that the film is officially in theaters, fans know that Cho didn't make the cut. In any event, Amadeus Cho can be seen as a ing character voiced by Aleka Le in the recently released Your Friendly Spider-Man animated series, and with Marvel making a big deal of the character's 20th anniversary, it can be inferred that the publisher has further plans, across mediums, for the classic Marvel ing character.

Amadeus Cho 20th Anniversary Special #1 debuts on May 7th, 2025 from Marvel Comics.
