Abby three months after she killed Joel. The Last of Us season 2, episode 4 sees Ellie and Dina struggle to find Abby in the vast city, with them instead encountering dangerous WLF forces as well as hordes of Infected.
The Last of Us season 2, episode 4 starts off with a flashback scene, introducing viewers to Jeffrey Wright's Isaac. After exploring his origin story, the episode jumps back to the show's main timeline, following Ellie and Dina as they explore Seattle looking for supplies. The duo finds a tower that has the letters "WLF" written on a satellite, with them deciding to head there. Upon their arrival, they discover a terrifying scene, one that kicks off a tense escape from the tower.
Why Ellie & Dina Decide To Head To Lakehill
They Learn About It From A Radio
At the end of The Last of Us season 2, episode 4, Ellie and Dina successfully make it out of the tower and the train station. The duo dashes out of the location and into a nearby theater, with them taking refuge in the abandoned building. They manage to get a signal on a walkie talkie, overhearing WLF discussing location called Lakehill. This allows Dina and Ellie to know that at least somebody is at Lakehill. They want to head there in the hopes of finding Abby, but the dash out of the tower got them disoriented.
Thus, they decide to head to the top of the theater for a better vantage point. When Dina and Ellie make it there, they use the map to figure out which building is Lakehill. However, gunfire can be heard and explosions can be seen from the location. Despite this, the duo decides to still head that way, with the episode ending as they decide to head into the war zone and look for Abby.
Who The WLF Is Fighting At Lakehill
Is It Infected Or Seraphites?
When Ellie and Dina see Lakehill, it is clear that the WLF is in the middle of a battle. However, it isn't explained who they are actually fighting. The first guess is the Seraphites, the religious cult that was introduced in The Last of Us season 2, episode 3. The Seraphites are the other faction that occupies Seattle, with them being at war with the WLF over control of the region. Isaac is even seen interrogating a Seraphite early in the episode. The WLF's slaughter of the Seraphite caravan in episode 3 and the Seraphite's massacre site of the WLF soldiers in episode 4 point to this possibility.
However, it could also be that the WLF are simply fighting Infected at Lakeside. In The Last of Us Part II, much of the WLF activity that Ellie and Dina see is dedicated to clearing out Infected hot spots throughout Seattle. Keeping the Infected at bay is a massive task considering how big Seattle is. It could simply be that the WLF is clearing out Lakehill when Ellie and Dina hear about it, with the massive amount of ammunition being used showing how big the Infected threat is.
Who Jeffrey Wright's New Isaac Character Is & What His Role Is In The WLF
Based On His Flashback
The Last of Us season 2, episode 4 starts with a flashback scene, showing a FEDRA agent named Isaac killing his FEDRA cohorts and ing a resistance movement in Seattle. Jeffrey Wright's Isaac is a character in the game, with him being the leader of the WLF at the time of The Last of Us Part II. Although his role in the proper story of The Last of Us season 2 hasn't yet been revealed, his leadership over the WLF means that he will probably be a major antagonist in Ellie and Dina's story. His interrogation scene shows how threatening he is, setting him up as a dangerous foe for Ellie and Dina.
Why Ellie Reveals Her Immunity
A New Bite Forces Her To
In The Last of Us season 2, episode 4, Ellie finally reveals her immunity to Dina. Despite her immunity being core to her character, Ellie has kept it a secret. While escaping the infected horde in the subway, Ellie is bitten. Dina is horrified, believing that she now has to kill Ellie. This forces Ellie to reveal her immunity to Dina, which in turn leads to Dina making a major reveal.

Who The First Person Ellie Killed In The Last Of Us Was
The Last of Us season 2, episode 3, offers an ambiguous answer to a poignant question. Here's our breakdown of what we know from season 1.
Interestingly, Ellie's immunity reveal plays out differently in the game that The Last of Us season 2 is based on. In The Last of Us Part II, Ellie falls during the subway sequence, causing her mask to break. This exposes Ellie to spores, which are another way that humans can become Infected. Dina sees this, believing that Ellie will die because of it. However, Ellie's immunity means that the spores don't affect her, revealing the truth to Ellie. Since spores aren't in HBO's The Last of Us, episode 4 had to change how this reveal plays out.
What Dina's Pregnancy Means For The Last Of Us Season 2
Will It Make Their Journey Harder?
After Ellie reveals her immunity, Dina reveals a major secret to Ellie: she is pregnant. As it turns out, Jesse got Dina pregnant sometime before they left Jackson, with Dina confirming this with some pregnancy tests that she found in episode 4. Dina's pregnancy will probably cause issues throughout the rest of The Last of Us season 2. The sickness and other liabilities that a pregnancy causes could make Ellie and Dina's journey more difficult, adding another conflict to their adventure.
Where Has Abby Been In The Last Of Us Season 2
Based On The Video Game
Ellie and Dina have now been looking for Abby for two episodes, with some fans asking where Abby is. Luckily, The Last of Us Part II has answers. After playing as Ellie throughout her time in Seattle, The Last of Us Part II shakes things up by having the player control Abby. The game then shows what Abby was up to during the same three days. On Abby's first day, she is still getting used to being back in Seattle. She hears that her friend Owen shot a fellow WLF soldier, with her trying to hunt Owen down. Although this story hasn't been explored yet, it will probably be seen in future episodes of The Last of Us season 2.
