Even with the series ending almost a decade ago, The Office is still one of the most-streamed shows right now. This shows just how stellar this series was, as it was immensely unique with its comedy and overall storylines. However, even with this being the case, it must be stated that it did have some pretty major flaws. That is of course the case with all shows, but that does not mean that they should not be addressed. In fact, it is entirely warranted to do.

The series did make some pretty big mistakes, which ultimately did leave a negative impact on its legacy. A lot of what-ifs can be said about the show, as questionable decisions were made by its showrunners. The vast majority of the series was absolutely splendid, but there were some errors along the way that were never fully fixed. Taking a deeper look into this makes it abundantly clear to its fans.

What If Michael Never Left?

The show was stupendous, but it could have been way better if Michael never ended up leaving. It was understandably difficult for them to replicate the success of the seasons that had him as he was the star of the show.

At least fans were allowed to see Michael have a happy ending as he finally found his true love in Holly and was able to have a family. However, it would have been even better had the series showed this.

What If Kelly Actually Left Ryan?

Kelly and Ryan wearing disguises in The Office

Ryan did not deserve Kelly at all. Although their dynamic certainly had its moments, it would have been great to see her finally put her foot down and leave him permanently. Unfortunately, this would not happen as she always would go back to him, even at the end of the series.

This prohibited Kelly from actually having any character development. It definitely would have been great to see her have this, but alas, this simply did not come to fruition. Sadly, Ryan always knew how to manipulate her back in.

What If Season 1 Didn't Exist?

Season 1 was really a test drive for the series. It had yet to possess the true magic of the series as it was basically a replica of the UK version. The show lacked an identity of its own, which ultimately would make it the least favorite season by most.

Michael was not the character he would become either. The season also was only six episodes long, so realistically, it would not have an impact on the show's legacy. It was just a bland time for the sitcom, but fans should be happy that they turned it around.

What If Dwight Ended Up With Isabel?

Although Dwight would have his happy ending with Angela, the road there was bumpy and at times, entirely unnecessary. He honestly could have been with a drama-less Isabel, but his heart was always with Angela.

Still, one could not deny the instant connection between Dwight and Isabel. It would have been intriguing to see these two end up together, as it likely would have been a far healthier relationship for him too.

What If Charles Stayed With The Company?

Charles was an excellent character for the series, but his time would sadly be cut short. It was very disappointing, as he was a cool addition to the show, especially when seeing as how he was the exact opposite of Michael.

It would have been great to see him work alongside Michael, as the two possessed qualities that could have allowed them to succeed. Also, his clear loathing for Jim would have been hilarious if he had stayed.

What If Andy And Erin Stayed Together?

Andy sings while Erin watches on in The Office.

Andy's relationship with Erin was a fantastic highlight of the later seasons, but it would end up taking a disastrous turn for the worst. This was due to the fact that Andy's character essentially abandoned Erin as he went overseas.

Erin eventually moved on, which was entirely justifiable. However, when these two were in the prime of their time together, they were easily one of the best couples. It was so disappointing to see it end up failing so miserably.

What If The Michael Scott Paper Company Lasted?

It would have been quite interesting to see The Michael Scott Paper Company last longer than it did. It was so nice to see Michael created a project on his own accord as it showed his true ion for sales.

It seemed as though that this could have been a marvelous change for Michael's character. He definitely had the potential to make the company last as Dunder Mifflin was genuinely concerned about its possible success as a competitor.

What If Deangelo Didn't Injure Himself?

deangelo in the office

Although Deangelo had a hard time fitting into the office, it would have been better to at least see if he could. Will Ferrell is a comedic genius and could have thrived in this role if he was utilized in a different way.

The way he left the show was a bit disappointing too, as although it was funny, it left a massive hole in the branch that would never effectively be filled. Giving Deangelo a longer rope could have been fun for the series given who was portraying him.

What If Andy Never Became Boss?

Andy's character really took a nosedive once he became boss. It not only would eventually lead to the completion of his relationship with Erin but he became a bit unbearable. It made him lose the loving qualities that made him once a fan favorite.

He was better in a smaller role within the branch as he lacked the qualities of being a true leader. Although the idea of him as the boss was funny, it just failed to reach the potential it could have. Also, to be blunt, Dwight should have gotten the position in the first place.

What If Kevin Didn't Drop His Famous Chili?

Kevin spills his chili in The Office.

Kevin's famous chili was simultaneously one of the funniest and saddest scenes from the series. There was so much enthusiasm, as he could not wait to share his dish with his coworkers. It was rather wholesome to see him like this, but of course, it quickly would take a turn for the worst.

What if Kevin's famous chili became a common occurrence within Dunder Mifflin? It would have been fantastic to see this, as it not only would be good for the company's morale but more importantly, Kevin's.
