Throughout the season, The Penguin episode 7 ended with some major events. Salvatore Maroni died from a heart attack while fighting Oz. After that, Sofia sends a car bomb to Oz's hideout. It explodes the Penguin's drug operation and leaves a path of destruction in the heart of Crown Point, with Oz being taken hostage. The Penguin's finale will put an end to Sofia and Oz's fight.

The Batman's First Spinoff Is Coming To An End

After switching things up following its premiere episode, The Penguin has kept a steady release schedule. That will continue for the last episode of The Batman spinoff series. As such, The Penguin episode 8 airs on Sunday, November 10, at 9 PM ET. The finale will simultaneously be available on HBO and Max. The Penguin episode 8 is called "Great or Little Thing," and what could be the show's final hour — if there is no season 2 — has been written by The Penguin showrunner Lauren LeFranc, who also penned episode 1.

What To Expect From The Penguin Finale

Batman Has Not Appeared In The DC Series So Far

There are still many threads to be resolved in The Penguin's finale. The biggest plot point of the season, Sofia and Oz's battle for power, is the main event. Sofia took Oz's mom hostage, and after the Batman villain was revealed as the one to kill her brother, Alberto, the only member of the Falcone family who stood by her side, Sofia wants revenge. It is hard to picture Oz becoming Gotham's new crime boss without losing someone dear to him, so Sofia killing Oz's mom or Victor Aguilar, his protégé, is looking likely.

Victor's story has some interesting connections to one of DC Comics' Robins, Jason Todd. That character ended up being killed by Batman's biggest villain, the Joker. The Penguin could go for a similar event in the finale, with Sofia murdering the teen Oz took under his wing. Another possible finale plot point is Batman's absence from The Penguin. The Dark Knight has been missing while a major gang war was going on, but after a bomb exploded in Crown Point, it would make sense for Batman to show up in The Penguin finale.
