After graduating with his MFA in 1995, Myers has been a producer for almost thirty years as well as a professor at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts-Asia in Singapore before his ing in 2021 at the age of 52. With an infectious and gregarious personality, Myers left a powerful impression on those close to him. His family even established the Mathew Myers Scholarship Fund to carry on his spirit. Although the final film to carry his name will be Joe Maggio's Bliss, the decision to honor the prolific producer at the end of The Perfect Find goes to show how impactful his ing was.

Getting some of his first work as a production assistant on the 1990s remake of Night of the Living Dead and as a production intern on 1991's Silence of the Lambs, Myers has gone on to produce films such as Milk & Honey, Speak, Griffin and Phoenix, The Ministers, See You Yesterday, and Madres among many others. Having a successful career behind the camera, Myers even played a minor role in The Deviants, a film that he also co-wrote with director John Mikulak.
