Quick Links
The base game of The Sims 4 and some DLC expansions contain hidden worlds that you can access for new neighborhoods to move characters into. Even without buying different Game Packs, you still have multiple secret areas you can uncover. Those who are too used to normal environments may not even notice the possibility of unknown locations unless they deliberately search for clues.
Try to explore new neighborhoods to find different collectibles and empty areas within various areas. When combined with the right cheats or other tricks, some of these clues will lead to mystical hidden worlds within Sims 4 for you to investigate. A lot of these places are spots you can travel to from the very beginning of the game, while others may take a good amount of time to reveal.
Some hidden worlds require you to have different DLC expansions ed to your copy of Sims 4. Make sure you have the right content added if you want to find hidden locations outside the base game.

How Much All Sims 4 Expansion Packs Cost (Including Cottage Living)
The Sims 4 has 11 total expansion packs, including its most recent, Cottage Living. How much does it cost to buy all of them plus the base game?
Sylvan Glade (Base Game)
The Sylvan Glade can be accessed by interacting with an ornate tree in the neighborhood enough times to reveal some hidden interactions. One of the two secret areas in the base game, the tree that reveals this place exists near the Crick Cabana lot in Willow Creek. This resplendent landmark stands out among a patch of glowing mushrooms near a canal that can be quite hard for you to miss in Sims 4.
At first, you only have the option to View the tree with any of your Sims that approach it. To reveal the secret door within the tree, you need to keep sending Sims to View it until another option shows up after some time in Sims 4. Eventually, you'll be given a prompt to water the tree, talk to it, and compliment its leaves to build your relationship with this piece of nature.
After enough time, the tree will reveal a door leading to a ageway where your Sim will be asked a series of questions. Pick the answers "Follow the Sound," "Travel Downstream," "Enter the Mist," and "Travel to Glade" as your Sim continues to investigate this strange secret. The right responses will transport your character through a loading screen leading to the Sylvan Glade.
Answering any of the four questions incorrectly will eject your Sim from the tree and lock them out from trying again due to an uncomfortable or embarrassed moodlet that lasts for some time.
The Glade is perfect for anyone looking for rare plants and fish, such as the Treefish that only exists in this area. A beautiful waterfall and pond also exist here, creating a location that makes it easier to avoid other paid DLC in Sims 4 for this pre-existing content. However, you could always buy the Spa Day Game Pack to easily reach the Sylvan Glade by just meditating instead of through the mysterious tree's questions.
Certain cheats can be used in the Glade to give you more freedom while building in this hidden area's surprisingly small lot. Press Ctrl + C to bring up cheat commands when playing on a PC, then enter testingcheatstrue to enable cheats. Enter bb.enablefreebuild from the same menu to allow your characters to make pretty much whatever you wish within the limited space of the Sylvan Glade.
The Forgotten Grotto (Base Game)
The other hidden area in the base game is The Forgotten Grotto, accessed from the abandoned mine in Oasis Springs. Some Sims with the highest-paying careers in Sims 4 may already recognize Affluista Mansion, an area near the Landgraab lot that hosts an entrance to the mine. According to a video by YouTube creator Petey Plays It, you can travel through the Mansion to Desert Bloom Park to reach this location easily.
The way into the mine is blocked off by wooden boards that only a Sim with the Level 10 Handiness skill can break. You could enable cheats to get past the boards or train one of your Sims to learn about Handiness to build the right skill. Books about Handiness, plumbing, repairing homes, or applying upgrades to different appliances are all good ways to increase the trait you want in a Sim.

10 Reasons You'll Never Quit The Sims 4 (Despite Its Flaws)
The Sims 4 has more than its share of problems, but even with Sims 5 and Life by You on the horizon, it looks like it’s here to stay. Here’s why.
A Sim with the right Handiness level will take a few minutes to break the boards and enter the mine. Similar to the Sylvan Grove, your Sim will be given some prompts that you must answer correctly to reach the Forgotten Grotto area in Sims 4. Choose the options "Take the Wide Path," "Climb the Ladder," and "Step onto the Ledge" to transport your character into the hidden area.
Sims cannot build within the Grotto, but you can find many rare items you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. For example, plant spawners here create onions and mushrooms for you to use in several food recipes in Sims 4. Feel free to leave no stone unturned in the Forgotten Grotto as you explore the area for exclusive collectibles and other important resources.
The Deep Woods (Outdoor Retreat Pack)
The many details within the Outdoor Retreat expansion include a hidden area called The Deep Woods in the vacation world of Granite Falls. A hole next to a shrub close to a cabin within this world triggers another series of prompts from a rabbit hole adventure. Similar to the other two places, you need to pick the right responses to transport your Sim character into a secret environment.
Pick the "Step Forward," "Go Through the Web," "Ignore the Object," and "Approach the Sim" options to enter the Deep Woods. This place is also known as the Hermit's House, which hosts a small lot owned by a character called The Hermit. Near this House are many unique landmarks, including a huge waterfall where you can catch rare fish and small meadows that host blackberry plants.
Interacting with the Hermit NPC can lead your Sim to get gardening tips for a special fertilizer only offered through this hidden area. Will-o-wisps, walking stick, and dragonfly insects are other interesting parts of the Grotto you couldn't find anywhere else.
Planet Sixam (Get to Work Pack)
The Get to Work expansion pack offers new careers for your Sims that could lead you to a hidden area known as Planet Sixam. Beyond the Detective, Doctor, or Scientist, there are new occult Sims in Sims 4 that can add new skills to their career to reach this secret location. You want to have a Sim with the Rocket Scientist role from the Scientist career to access Planet Sixam.
All you need to do is add a Wormhole Generator onto a rocket while a Sim pursues other tasks associated with the general career. If you don't have this occult quality, you must build a Wormhole and upgrade it using two elements and two uncommon crystals and metals in Sims 4. No matter how you get a Wormhole Generator, it will allow you to travel to Planet Sixam once it has been made.
The Wormhole Generator transports you to and from Planet Sixam, which is a world where you can't build anything without cheats.
Entering a Wormhole from your rocket lets you visit Planet Sixam, where a party held by aliens awaits any Sim Scientists researching the world. Plenty of rare items exist on this planet, ranging from rare elements to unique metals and an exclusive six-piece collection of geodes. Flowers such as the Quill Fruit, Wild Orb, and Fang Flower exist here as well for those looking to boost their environment back home.
Cave of Sulani (Island Living Pack)
The Cave of Sulani is a hidden area within the island destination introduced in the Island Living expansion DLC back in 2019 for Sims 4. Many activities can be done on the isle of Sulani, including sailing, shell collecting, and even cleaning the new environment. This location may not have a full hidden lot or neighborhood like other regions, but it does have some small secrets for you to discover.
Simply travel to the only major cave on Sulani to find this least hidden area among the others mentioned in Sims 4. This place contains elusive items like many other secret locations, with many relating to the new activities your Sims can participate in. Mermaid Kelp is one of the most important items that spawn here since it can be used to help transform your characters into Mermaids.
The Magic Realm (Realm of Magic Pack)
The Realm of Magic Game Pack in Sims 4 contains perhaps the most well-known hidden area in the game for you to uncover. Only accessible to those who have purchased the Realm of Magic DLC, this place can be found by traveling to the Glimmerbrook area. Here, you must follow a path behind the starting lot until you reach a large waterfall to begin your journey to the secret Magic Realm.
The Magic Realm hidden area can only be found when the DLC is installed, so make sure you have ed the right content in Sims 4. Once you do this, you should see a magical portal for your Sim to travel through near the waterfall. Just walk through this supernatural landmark in the water to find the secret location without any additional steps.
Mt. Komorebi Upper Mountain (Snowy Escape Pack)
The final hidden area in Sims 4 is Mt. Komorebi's Upper Mountain, which can only be found when you have the Snowy Escape DLC installed. Similar to the last location, there are very few steps needed to reach the new environment you are looking for. One of your Sims must travel to the bathhouse in the Yukimatsu district of Mt. Komorebi to begin the search for this unknown region of the mountain.
When you are at the bathhouse, use a mobile phone to start the mountain excursion Social Event that takes you on a tour of the mountain. Doing this will let you access all the hidden areas scattered along this path in The Sims 4 as you continue to the very top of this world's iconic landmark.
